Swan's lake! Wandered into the pond, saw something moving and went "What's that? Swan? What kind of swan is thaNOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPEITFROMORBITNOPENOPENOPE!!!!"
Well written, OP - a flair for the spoiler-free dramatic, you have.
My moment was not nearly so epic, but still gets a "Bravo, Beth, bravo" from me and warrants sharing. You guys have got to see this.
No spoilers, but out there somewhere there is a bridge. A bridge that crosses over into a location. I want to tell you that it's mined, but that would be like telling you that the Sun is hot: it's technically correct, but it doesn't convey the sheer magnitude of what it's describing.
So, this bridge is more mined than Moria and covered in wrecked cars.
I know we all love to steal mines. But, and I have never been more emphatic about anything in my life, when you find this place save your game before you pick up any mines.
Then shoot one of them - the close one, from at least 30 feet away. Watch the bridge.
You are very welcome.
Just saw that last night after I posted my story above. I watched it fly off using my sniper scope. Awesome. I was impressed.
I just ran into it now. You got me Bethesda. A mutated Swan that took 3 bottlecap mines and my incendiary shotgun to kill and scare the living crap out of me at the same time. Bravo!!!!
I found Brother Andrew and asked him about his movement.
Brother Andrew: "I'm glad you asked! We- *BOOM!* *BRIGHT FLASH* *HIS DECAPITATED HEAD FLIES OFF AND BODY FALLS TO THE GROUND* *FIRE AND SMOKE AND BURNING WRECKAGE AND BODIES*
Me: *freaked* "What the hell was that?!"
Vertibird crashed into our conversation. Man, those things drop like flies.
