How many rooms must you build to accomplish this one?

The achivement is: "Build 1 of every room type".

My guess (and it is only a guess because I don't know the exact definition of "room type"):

For 19 rooms that can have 3 sizes and 3 levels that would be a total of 171 combinations:

rooms * size * level = 19 * 3 * 3 = 171.

Easiest way to achieve this (not the most efficient way, because that would depend on costs and vault layout) is

• build 1 room and upgrade


• build 2 rooms (side by side) and upgrade


• build 3 rooms (side by side) and upgrade.

For each kind of room you would have to build 3+2+1 single rooms. Don't be afraid, you do not need to count the numbers.

The result is based on the maximum room size's correspondending triangular number or the following sum formular:

size (size + 1) / 2.

So you can build 114 rooms and a few upgrades to cover all combinations...

rooms * size * (size + 1) / 2 = 19 * 3 * (3 + 1) / 2 = 114.

Tried it, and no, doesn't work. Helps getting rid of those pesky caps though!

You need to build 19 rooms, but they need to be in the vault at the same time.

Sorry for your caps. But caps are more annoying than deathclaws ...

Weird... Must've missed something because I was sure I got one of every room type.. Do they have to be staffed?


Also, caps are bugging me out man, you even get them in lunchboxes! We need a strategy against all these pieces of tin!

Tried "all the combinations" yesterday but the achievement progress was stuck about 50% ...

Today I have build 19 single level 1 rooms (unmanned) and got the achievement.

Maybe they will add another achievement: "Spend 999.999 caps in one day"..

Worked! One wide, unupgraded rooms, no dwellers in them. I think my fault was upgrading them all (earlier)..

No... please no... or maybe yes, but hopefully they'll add buying lunchboxes for caps
