Home Town

Which town is your characters home town?

For some people its the main place you do all of your business, for others its where your character lives and for some it might be where your character is born or has decided to settle.

For my two characters I have a home town for both of them. Arch-Mage Sabarel Tatheth spends most of her time in Anvil and lives there when she is not attending to her duties in the Imperial City. Euisa Tatheth operates in and around Bravil spending most of her time in the areas surrounding it and running the Fighters Guild from there.

I voted Cheydinhal, as that's where Helena will most likely settle down. Her love lives there, and she thinks the town is very pretty. It's a shame Falcar was such a [censored] really. But the rest of the mages at the guild are lovely!

She does spend quite a lot of time in Anvil though. She's great friends with Carahil, and where better for a Healer to live, than in the town where the Mages Guild specialises in Restoration.

The third place she spends lots of time is the Arcane University, for obvious reasons. She's not graduated yet, so she has classes to attend and spells to practice.

I really can't vote, since it depends on the character.

Some use the Imperial City shack because it's central and/or because it suits the character.

Some like Bravil because of it's slummy feel and/or because it's close to Shivering Isles.

My Redguard Warrior is Master of the Fighters Guild, so he has a house in Chorrol

Some of my more accomplished characters settle down in Skingrad manor.

Usually Anvil is a vacation home for many characters.

But typically the DLC homes (which are not in a Home Town) are were the character really calls home. In particular Deepscorn Hollow or Frostcrag.

My Character lives in Skyngrad it's where I can keep all my loot and display it in my house plus I have Eyja to cook and clean for me that gives me alot more time to run around the country and take out goblins and bandits. The wine is another reason I like skyngrad it's the best in all tamriel so I spend some time in the tavern and have a collection on 399 vintages and 415's.

I guess you could say Anvil, but speaking of the whole Gold Coast would be closer to the truth.

Cayo was born in Tathra, a little village in the cliffs southeast of Anvil. His parents are the Lords of the Gold Coast (a title now belonging to Cayo, although of little use) and thus he was raised in castle Seaview (north of Anvil), and he spend all his youth in Anvil before going to Skyrim to begin his basic pre-Legion training (the stats you've at the beginning of the game aren't free, you know).

This question pop up once in a while, and I always answer Bruma. Lothran claims he chose it without outside influences, but I suspect it had something to do with me being a Nord :P

You're missing an option, "None". I don't have a home town since Frostcrag Manor is my base of operations.

Cheydinhal on the current character. Previous characters have sampled all the homes with Cheydinhal, Skingrad and Chorrol being the top picks.

Although Lissa currently resides in Bravil, Anvil will always be her hometown and she plans to move back when her life is less hectic!

Her sister, Maelona, lives there and she will always have a place in her heart for the city.

Her long-time love lives in one of the guilds and her good friend Helena visits Anvil every now and then ;)

Buffy's from Bravil. She was born and raised there and considers it her home, although she is rarely there. She doesn't rule out calling a different city home someday, depending where her heart and her path lead her.

Her main 'base of operations' is her mare's twin saddlebags and a portable campsite.

Of the choices offered I picked Imperial City. That general "area" is indeed our base of operations. The Imperial Palace is there. Legion Road Patrols and Council Tax Collection assignments originate at the Palace.

Our actual home is the manor at Weye, awarded my avatar for services rendered soon after his becoming "Champion of Cyrodiil". It offers many attractions. The manor itself has many amenities, though one still has to visit Lake Rumare to bathe. It is "companion friendly" so that Vilja has her own bed and a place to while away the hours during those few occasions we are apart. There's a stable across the road big enough for our mounts and Groucho. The village merchant, while not offering the best prices on an item-by-item basis, has about the highest monetary fund limit in Cyrodiil, so that he is an ideal choice when selling high-ticket items (Daedric gear, enchanted items and the like). The Wawnet is close-by for dining out, and my decrepit avatar has long had a soft-spot for its proprietress, Nerrusa. Weye is not far from another of our properties, the manor at Verona Village, an even more elaborate abode that DOES house a large indoor bath. Oh, and it's perfectly situated for easy access to IC.

Cheydinhal, arbitrarily as that was the sort of house I decided to make for her. She does most of her business in the Imperial City, but sometimes closer to home when I'm feeling lazy.

On at least one past character, the answer has been a house just outside the Fringe and business in New Sheoth.

I kind of want to change my vote to Leyawin, since I'm apparently the only person to ever have a home there.

Even though he one day will want to get out of the big city life, the Imperial City will always be Ancoi's base. He has made many a friend there and has recently found that the Arena is fun. And then there's the Foaming Flask too, his favourite hangout.

Bruma, always Bruma. If too much time has been spent at Olaf's, then a short spell living at Weynon Priory tends to 'unjade the palate' and the desire for the Nord staples of drink and cold weather is restored. And this coming from an Altmer, Summerset Isle must have been a dull place to grow up.

I loved the Bruma house. I just didn't like having to do the drop a lit torch trick to get a fire going. No matter how many torches I drop, be it one or 7, it sounds like a crazy roaring bonfire.

While S'drarri was born and raised in Elsweyr (specifically Corinthe), he decided to move to his father's old home in Leyawiin (I used an Alt Start that lets me start with the Leyawiin home, among others).

Unfortunately... Leyawiin's a bit boring, and S'drarri might decide to move to the IC... the last time he was there was for the Bravil Mage's Guild quest.

Have added Roamer for someone who doesn't have a home, along with Shivering Isles and DLC Manors due to popular demand by Personal Mail. If you use one of the DLC Manors please state which one. As for my house in Anvil I built it with the Construction Set so that I could put it on the Harbourside in Anvil with a door onto a private balcony to the sea.

But necessary in that cold, I can′t believe they didn′t have it lit from the beginning. But oh, there is one in the I.C shack! C′mon :shakehead:

I agree. :tops: It depends on the character. Since both of my current characters live in the Imperial City, I actually made that as my choice. But I've had characters in the past which had several homes. They've all had some sort of a home, though. My current characters are...

Lou Zehr, Level 2 Thief: Marie Elena (I think...it's the pirate boat on Waterfront)

Beujok the Grey Wizard, Level 6: Arch Mage's tower

There's also....
Dyan phor a'Cauz
: Bruma house, Waterfront Shack, Greyland (cabin outside Leyawiin), Lord something's Manor slave house (north of Anvil), although I'm taking a long break before I get back into her game...

One of my past characters (now deceased) lived in Lorkmir's house (free house in Elven Gardens District)
Spoiler
which I thought was pretty creative. Bed can be slept in and Lorkmir is dead in the basemant!

Early on I have a waterfront property that serves as my main home in the Imperial City but later it's Skingrad because it's so centrally located. I usually end up with Anvil, Chorrol and Bruma homes too. I was so disappointed that the Bruma home didn't have a fire in the fireplace. My first-ever home was Cheydinhal and I love that house but it's only late-game if I get it again because it's so far away from everything else.
