Homes in NV?

Post » Sun Oct 10, 2010 12:37 pm

I vote for making ANY place you clear out your home. I emptied Paradise Falls, and (in real life) I would have set up shop in Eulogy Jones' house. But I wasn't given that option, which... svcked a bit, it has to be said.

(then again, I shudder to think of the programming that would have to go into making every faction react to the fact you've taken over TinShack15. Or Dinosaur. Or BOS Bunker. Or....)

Pretty much this, so many a time and many a people complained about the 'red bed.'

Fallout New Vegas, if it has red beds, does this mean it will be 'Red Bed Redemption'?

Aye, indeed... it would be even better if sleeping would have an actual sleeping emote with your character lying down on the bed, followed by a sleeping tune, screen fading into black, and waking up.

or like that "ready for bed" mod, but I guess that hit the nexus too late to influence this title. Maybe in Fallout 4.

Heh, i was lvl 14 before i learned to teleport. And the only reason i had a house was to put my extra ammo and guns in.

...Or find your own. Clear out a place like a depot or gas station and then make yourself the tenant.

yup... i've made the tepid sewers, the farragut west station, the abandoned tent in the middle of nowhere (near the big satellite dishes north), and gallo's place in the sewer waystation my homes before... quite frankly, if there are places like this, i will be fine...

but, i could of swore i heard somewhere that even minor factions have housing for you... as well as smaller settlements like goodsprings offer housing to the character if you help aid the town in their side-quest against the powder gang for example... i thought i remember reading about this in one of the earlier previews... that option could of since been removed but, i thought there was plenty of housing opportunities in the mojave wasteland...

someone ought to submit that that as a question for the bethesda podcast :D... they've already read some of my questions, i doubt they read any more...

That'd be cool if you could live with the BoS...

...it'd be cool if you could join em too

Agreed. ^_^

I'm hoping there's an actual house available pretty early on, like Megaton's; if not I will be roaming around the wasteland until I can find a shack to inhabit. Having to pay 120 caps for a rest in Megaton was a little brutal.

To the guy using the supermarket; Did you get jumped a lot by Talon Co out there, if you were playing a Good character?

I also agree that if someone's dead, you should be able to sleep in their bed; it should revert to green.
If someone has a cool house you want, it's definitely in the Fallout spirit to kill them and take it. :D

...like grandma sparkle and her little shack... that's the one housing structure i wanted badly to own for myself...

Houses better be harder to get than in F3, in F3 you could get a house at level 3 and it simplified the game dramatically.

There were only 2 houses and they were a part of a beginning quest. You should get a house in NV when you were able to make a name for yourself like helping out a specific faction.

If houses are harder to get, then we better get bedrolls in hardcoe mode.

But they shouldn't be an option until later on. I'm going to make use of all the advantages available to me, so giving game-breaking materials to me shouldn't happen.

Meh.
In my opinion, early access to houses should be left in; I really liked being able to have a house the whole time. If you find it too simple, either don't complete the quest to get the house that early or just don't use the house at all.

No reason to restrict access to stuff for everyone in a single-player game; if you don't like it, you always have the option of avoiding it, which is the beauty of games that don't have to worry about a multiplayer component.

If you choose to follow the quest to blow Megaton to shreds you will be rewarded with a home in Tenpenny Tower a veeerrrry nice hotel... But to get on topic there have been rumors of a house per faction you choose to follow up on depending on your reputation with them..This is just speculation I have no clue just rumors that may or may not be true..
