Homes in NV? : Fallout: New Vegas

Will there be any homes like in F3. If there are where can you get them. Can you build your own home in the waste land.

As far as we know, there are three faction based houses at least. One for Caesars Legion, one from NCR, and the other from Mr. House.

well somehow you get a house on the strip sort of a tiny 50's retro florida looking type house. This is all know.

EDIT: Sorry but it has come to my attention thanks to Colonel Martyr that i shouldve mentioned that this was a rumour during the early days of FO:NV and is most likely false so i am sorry for any confusion or anger i have caused.

I'm going to need more than one. Since food, water and sleep will be important on hardcoe, and it has weight so you can't carry it all around with you, I'm going to need safe houses all over the place where I can stash my stuff. Ideally they'd have a bed there too. And of course they'd need to be safe for items, safe containers and safe to drop (because I'll decorate).

I dont know that I would want to build my own house but that's just me. I do however hope its like the housing system in Oblivion.

Houses were so expensive, and didn't seem useful enough to warrant the gold.
I just slept in Ongar's bed, then svcked his blood, then left.
Then I quit the game because I hated Oblivion.

Officially there's Megaton or Tenpenny Tower, unofficially, there are livable homes spread around the wasteland, it's a very popular thing for the roleplayers here. me, I'm to lazy to search for a place outside my Megaton Home.

Yeah i personally liked living in the supermarket that you clear out for Moira in the Survival Guide quest.

i assume that we will have houses like fallout 3. I do wish that there were more variants in how to get them besides getting it as a reward or clearing out a place.

I think it's best if you have to buy them as that gives you something to save up for. I enjoy scauaging and looting much more when I'm saving up for something.

Probably isn't in the game but I wouldn't mind a backpack with a tent inside to setup wherever I like.
For roleplaying purposes I don't want to use fast travel too much and always return to a city to get some sleep.
Besides, its possible that I won't join any of the major factions and I don't want to miss the chance of not getting a house into my possession.
Since I won't be playing the bad guy, killing someone to get his or her house isn't an option either.

Im not during the early days of the announcement there was actually a rumour going around like this and yes i do realize i didnt mention this in my previous post so for that i am sorry.

There IS a penthouse you can get on the Strip if you align with Mr. House though

I believe that you will be able to sleep at the various camp fires found throughout the Mojave Wasteland. The penthouse would also be good as it is truly a plce to call home :dmc:

There should be more houses available. As said earlier, you will most definately get a house from the one major factions. A housing system like Oblivion would be a good idea, as you would have a number of houses dotted around the wasteland which would suit hardcoe Mode perfectly.

I vote for making ANY place you clear out your home. I emptied Paradise Falls, and (in real life) I would have set up shop in Eulogy Jones' house. But I wasn't given that option, which... svcked a bit, it has to be said.

(then again, I shudder to think of the programming that would have to go into making every faction react to the fact you've taken over TinShack15. Or Dinosaur. Or BOS Bunker. Or....)
