If anyone would like to help me with my marketing "homework", I'm conducting a quick survey about how exam facilitators (whether it's your school or the company that runs the test) communicates with candidates, to see if anyone would, in theory, use a service that sent them a text message before each exam giving the

name/title

date/time

location (with URL for map)

of each exam session?

I have anecdotal evidence that people have missed exams because they forgot about them and/or didn't know where to go, but wondered how this compares to your experience.

Would you like such a service?

Would you be willing to pay for such a service?

Would you find text messages annoying and intrusive?

A: My old school utilises such a system, it does work, I haven't had to use it as I know when all my exams are, We were given sheets at the start of the year which listed all the exams we had, when they were and where they were. Of course, some people lose those sheets and the SMS system was incredibly useful for them. If I forgot when an exam was, I used to either check the timetable the school set up near the main office or check my sheet.

A: No. Unless it was a one time fee within a reasonable amount of charge.

Q: Would you find text messages annoying and intrusive?

A: So long as I wasn't being messaged for every exam even ones I wasn't taking, then no.

This is new to me. I didn't know such a thing as an "SMS Notification Service" existed. So this is kind of hypothetical...

Would you like such a service? I suppose. I can see where it might come in handy.

Would you be willing to pay for such a service? No.

Would you find text messages annoying and intrusive? Yes. But, then, I almost always find them intrusive.

I have and would give my contact information to instructors and testing facilities so that they can notify me of any schedule changes. If they also use that information to send me reminders of scheduled events, I won't block those reminders.

Although I may appreciate those reminders, I would never seek them, let alone pay for them. When I feel a need for a reminder, it is easy enough for me to set one up myself.
