Honest Hearts or Lonesome Road

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:06 pm

I was thinking about buyng some dlcs namely old world blues cuz i readed on the wiki that it talked about some of the creatures in the wastes and honest hearts or lonesome road.

Im a legion supporter so im a bit inclined to honest hearts but i was like WTF? when johnson nash talked about a "storm of the divide" and i would like to explore and see how it is and to talk to courier six(or ulysses).
So on your opinion, whats the better one?

Priority order (in terms of story):

1. Lonesome Road
2. Old World Blues
3. Dead Money
4. Honest Hearts

I recommend getting them all though.

It really depends on what you want. It'd be better to play Lonesome Road story wise since it's hyped as the last road he walks before Hoover Dam, but if you just want good gameplay, depends on what you want. Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road both have very good weapons added, but it depends on what kind of location you want, if you want a beautiful scenic location, Zion National Park is for you, if you want Post-Apocalyptic cliche, The Divide/Hopeville is what you want.

Edit: I agree with Oucho, it's better to play them all in order since it hypes up Lonesome Road.

Agreed get them in order.

Out of the two Lonesome Road, but the other DLC add to it.

Honest Hearts is a complete waste of money, but it does at least stick to the Fallout-Feel of free roam. It is also very pretty(at least for Fallout standards) and aesthetic. Very short and quite boring.
As the other guy said, most of these DLCs hype you up for Lonesome Road, but this one doesn't really... it has about 1 reference to Ulysses.

Lonesome Road is a blast IMO, it's very linear, which many people didn't like at all, but I think it was a fresh change and it made it very gritty and fun for me. This DLC is quite hard, even on easier difficulties, and gives you places to roam even after the main quest. Oh yeah, and you also get to cause a lot of mayhem for whatever faction you want. Or both  That's all I'm going to say :)

Old World Blues throws energy weapons at you like a fat kid in a candy store. It also ads new unarmed weapons too.

Lonesome Road has 2 new energy weapons, the flashbang and some a word name that escapes me atm. It includes the industrial fist (sp?) which is basically a powerfist version of the Auto-Axe from The Pitt, as well as a deathclaw gauntlet.

Honest Hearts adds one that works like a tazer, and a new weapon called the yao quai gauntlet.

Dead Money adds the bear trap fist and the Holorifle, a weapon that many would argue is one of the best energy weapons in New Vegas.

My two least favourite DLCs. I'd give it to LR, which I see you have.

Good choice.

Don't make me choose :(. They both have their equal amount of pros and cons. Though I would say for the average player, Lonesome Road.

Lonesome Road is the best.

If you want energy weapons get Old World Blues which also adds good new unarmed/melee weapons including my picture, the Saturnite Fist Super Heated
