So I just completed Honest Hearts and I gotta say I absolutely loved it. it was fun sight seeing with Follows Chalk and then with Waking Cloud though my time with her was less then with Chalk. I did most of the exploring of the canyon with him. But both were fun to have around in their own way. On a scale of repetitive annoyance heh I give him a 7 though. Only so many times could I stand hearing him ask if there really was a great lizard that people lived in and spoke thunder (reference to the dino Boone snipes from no doubt) But his comments on all the caps I carry being noisy was funny.
Anyway my questions are as follows. There are several possible outcomes as I believe.
I chose to help Joshua go kill Salt Upon Wounds(I think that's his name) and I convinced Daniel that the Sorrows should fight for their home instead of flee. In the final scene I talked Joshua into sparing Salt Upon Wounds who took his tribe of White Legs back out of the canyon and apparently were destroyed by the 80s tribe. Daniels apparently felt he failed the Sorrows despite the fact they had survived and won. I guess because they now had a taste for fighting. The Dead Horse tribe also thrived under Joshua who changed for the better thanks to my intervention. Waking Cloud took a new husband from the Dead Horse tribe, forgiving Daniels for keeping the death of her first husband asecret from her (I told her though). Eventually though as was common in our own history, native tribes will quarrel and the Dead Horses and The Sorrows had some spats.
All and all I thought this was a pretty good ending. Yeah it was kinda sad to learn the 80s wiped out the White Legs but I don't really feel to bad for them. They served under Caesar and preyed upon the weak. Time to taste their own medicine.
A friend of mine indicated there was some decisions she made without paying attention to what some people were saying and regretted the ending she got. What other outcomes is there? Is there a bad ending?
I saved the game right where I was forced to choose helping the Sorrows flee (which might have left the Dead Horses completely on their own and possibly wiped out?) I'd rather get a sense of what the other ending is before I go play it all through again from that save point. I'm rather content as I said with the ending I got.
