Honest Hearts?

Post » Mon Aug 15, 2011 3:41 am

I've beaten OWB and in the process of doing a more...peaceful playthrough. I'm looking to pick up something to make New Vegas last a tid bit longer, and I figured HH was good enough. I heard it has some good loot, but what is the community's thoughts on it?
Note: I already own OWB and I will not buy Dead Money.

Because, from what I've heard it's hard, annoying, there's the whole "Cloud" [censored], the bomb collar and radios, you have to dismember your enemies to kill them...it all just seems like too much trouble and they tried too hard to make it, well...too hard.

I don't understand this board, when they make it to easy, people [censored] it's to hard. When it presents a challenge you cant just stomp through with bullets, people [censored] it should be easier :shakehead:

I love when games are easy. If they aren't, I make them easy. But I do enjoy a challenge every now and then. But I really svck at most video games.

-Shrugs- That's what I have Very Easy on for, I can't be arsed to deal with bullet spongery and combat. I play to dig through trashcans, explore the games dialogue and plot, and drink out of old toilets.

Dead Money was good. Your loss.

Honestly though you should get all the DLCs, You really have nothing to lose.

As for the ghost people. You just need to knock them out then take a melee weapon to them and beat them while they are down till something falls off. The bomb collar wasn't difficult at all. Just use standard "peeking" tactics to locate the radio thing setting your collar off. The most annoying part were the bear traps.

Well, ON TOPIC!

Yes, Honest Hearts is very good, it has a...kinda imaginative story, I guess, but the characters are really good, and the environment is uber-fun to explore because you like go cliff diving and not die.

Oh, and 'A Light Shining in Darkness'. Wiki it, it's epic.

I think you should buy HH, but because you like easy combat i think you should play OWB first, and keep the heartless perk to prevent you from getting poisoned by giant cazadores and green geckos. HH is worth its price for the Survivors story alone. :fallout:

Honest Hearts- The Good=characters, storyline, weapons, armor. The Bad= Lacking new creatures, large and almost empty map. Rating: some what good
Dead Money- The Bad=Hazardous map, bullet sponge enemies, Maze, companions are difficult to keep happy and understand. The Good= few weapons and armor. Rating: Not worth it
Old World Blues- The Good- Humorous characters, decent quest, vast amounts of weapons decent amount of armors, loads of enemy that provide a challenge, tons of places to explore. The Bad- a few repetitve quest, bad respawn areas, glitchy merchant. Rating: Definitly worth it

If you enjoy a game enough to play it all the way through, then you need all of the game. I have my favs as, well as ones that I didn't enjoy as much. But that didn't keep me from buying them. For every person that thinks a DLC is the greatest thing, since they put red on a tomato, there is one that hated it. Get the DLC, make up your own mind and the hell with what other people think. Because, if you rely on that, then you wont get any of them.

OWB is definitely the best so far, as it has an equal amount of good in all fields, Dead Money's good-ness is very much up to the user's personal preferences and Honest Hearts is more for an adventurous soul. I vote Honest Hearts.

Dead Money provides an actual challenge for the player, instead of simply stomping around going 'PEW PEW PEW I SHOT YOU HAHA!' you have to avoid traps, carefully navigate and or destroy speakers, Dead Money requires using your brain as opposed to simply hitting the trigger button at every problem, if you don't want a challenge for your mind, this DLC isn't for you. However, gameplay aside, it also introduces an amazing lore, a unique cast of characters, a deadly backdrop for this act of New Vegas. Dead Money provides a very great story to wrap this little present into a lovely bow.

Over all, if you're used to just stomping through things without thinking, this will provide a change of pace for you, and a wonderful story to boot, the traps and puzzles can be a control snapper at some points, but Dead Money is DEFINITELY worth your money.
