I'm talking about believable story telling here! Crysis looks like huge awesome but empty theatrical stage. I can't believe that Koreans evacuated the whole island, cause I can't see any evidence of it in level design.
or were you banking on getting to know all the soldiers you see dying later on?
I mean that squad doesn't work like well-trained squad during entire game! Nomad cleans up entire korean camp alone and then cut-scene! It doesn't make any sense!
As for the cliffhanger, it was pretty damn obvious why they were going back to the island, and if it weren't for Crytek's poor decisions, we'd have found out the result in Crysis 2.
Poor decision was to end the first game like this.
Besides, it's not like Crysis 2 ended with any real resolution. Alcatraz now has an OP viral catalyst suit and only New York has been purged of aliens...
It was very great ending! Because nano-suit was the main character of the story and player was completing its assimilation. Speaking about New York, at least it has been purged of aliens, meanwhile in Crysis...
...and why nobody else realised there were aliens under Central Park despite the fact they've been laying pipes and wires there for decades.
I can ask the same question about Crysis. And about every movie, book or any other artistic work which makes improbable assumption that aliens are already here on Earth, already among us. It's not a big deal. It is a very popular genre cliche.
