an honest proposal

Please read all of this post, or at least read some of it and the last 2 lines

I have been looking at the suggestions for Skyrim and it seems no matter what it is people always want Morrowind feature over Oblivion features I say give the people what they want. Skyrim should be like a Morrowind sequel, I mean everything in Oblivion was a mistake.
Bethesda needs to do the following:
get rid of the quest markers, those are only for illiterate player anyways
get rid of the graphics, it will allow more time for working on content
get rid of the AI from Oblivion, it is really hard to keep track of all those NPC's in Oblivion
get rid of voice acting and allow more time for content
reuse the same models so there will be time for more content
so what if this gets rid of the mainstream gamers, if they can't appreciate a good game then they shouldn't be playing it.I think this game shouldn't even be called Skyrim, it should be Morrowind 2, I mean thats what people want right? in fact this shouldn't even be a new game it should just be another DLC, because Morrowind was absolutely perfect.

If you haven't figured this out this thread is satirical, and is here to point out how many people want Skyrim to be an exact sequel to Morrowind, but Skyrim needs to be its own game and not compared to any past elderscrolls game. I know this thread will probably get locked, but I had to make this issue apparent

I don't think they need to remove stuff as much as u. Just add stuff they didn't keep from morrowind. Such as medium armor.. to say 1. They also do need to fix a few things and improve on some. Such as AI and level scaling.

Two sided coin. As the history goes MW is the game that has had things cut, and things to be brought back. I don't think AI and graphics removal have been suggested on behalf of suggestions stemming from MW.

Brief example. Skyrim comes out and things, lets go with armor skills, are cut. When TES VI is under development many people will probably ask for armor skills. Some even adamantly. Now bear in mind that this may just as well be under the belief that armor skills included in the game would make the game better, or more enjoyable, rather than direct nostalgia.

Get rid of AI o.O

You want a rolepalying game, where the NPC's stand there for 24 hours of the day, sshesh.

And this entire point about removing stuff for more time spent on content, why not include it both. I want the game to be brilliant, not half brilliant.

And the graphics are one of the major flaws i find to Morrowind, I love the breath taking scenary in Oblivion.

That's what I'm talking about^ You make it sound like Oblivion did not add ANYTHING to the franchise, while it certainly did. How would you feel if they took out NPC routines for example.

So thinking alot of stuff was way better in morrowind than it was in oblivion means we want a morrowind 2? No, no it doesn't. Honestly you sound a little whiny. Yea people complains alot aobut oblivion, but with good reason, it had so many mistakes, and asking for bethesda to correct these for their next game in the series in not at all unreasonable.

I haven't seen anyone ask for much of the stuff you list, and it's really damn immature to go "Oh so you think this game is better than this newer one in some aspects?! Well then clearly you just want a clone of the older game" That's not how it works.

The only thing I would like from Morrowind is the ability to kill anything and everyone and the level scaling. I don't like the fact I can go to town on a guy and he only gets knocked out cause they are essential and I enjoyed roaming into an area I was not ready for and getting demolished. I want this back, nothing more. Skyrim will be Skyrim.

LOL
When did you meet Morrowind, in 2010? Morrowind was breathtakingly beautiful for the 2002 graphic standards.

look on any poll that has suggestions for Skyrim, if it has Morrowind its gonna win, and most of the suggestions are putting stuff back in from Morrowind, in fact there was a forum that said Skyrim should be nothing like oblivion, and exactly you have never seen someone ask for the stuff I said, because it is too extreme, like I said its satire

Ok.
Don't get me wrong, i think OB added and tested (bettered with Fallout) some good things. What I was speaking up about was to try and keep everyones take on the overly general concept of OB bashing from starting a MW bashing thread, or MW fan bashing thread.

If I made it sound like OB was lacking that was not my intent, though if you want my opinion on the two games I would share it gladly.

[edit]
Swarley, if you could re-read my post, I do think it is because MW had a better grip on immersion (personally, here) and the 100+whatever votes toward Morrowind options are from a similar appreciation of that and not 100+ posts of really devoted fan boy nostalgia.

Yes, I agree with the op. Oblivion was inferior in every way to Morrowind. If you weren't there at the beginning to play Morrowind then you lack sufficient expertise of the series to understand what TES is all about. Morrowind was like D-day, where they sacrificed everything and fought with honor and bravery until they changed the tide and won the war singlehandedly. That is why, as newer TES recruit, I show respect and watch my tone around these heroes and look to them for wisdom on TES. If not for them there would be no Oblivion or Skyrim. Show some appreciation! It is up to them to endeavor and defend the quality of TES. Be thankful that you can witness and be a part of this life changing event. I move that we have a new subforum in honor of them and call it something appropriate, such as No N'wahs Allowed.

Satire is still supposed to show the actual viewpoints, if however taken to anotherlevel. In your post you imply that anyone has asked for the grahpics to be worsened, something I've never heard anyone claim they want. And yea I've seen those polls and voted in them. But that's because people make these polls about the stuff they were unhappy with in the last game, aka Oblivion. I don't think many people can say they'd prefer morrowinds combat system for example. Here Oblivion did make improvements, even if not perfected.

I understand and can appreciate your post, but sad to have read half the posts left here for it as it makes me think they have to dumb down games these days as the players are becoming more mentally challenged as the years go by. I also have to think N'wahs

If I were a mod.. I'd get a warhammer and name it "Ban". It would be enchanted with "Immediate thread and topic starter removal", cast on strike, duration of.. a lifetime. I would swing it here with all my might.

I did, that has nothing to do with my post, I think I played it for 5 months now, storyline, expansion packs, and the small quests

I agree with you. I'd like to be able to come here and have friendly chats about what might be in the game, but instead all there is is whining that Skyrim might be more like Oblivion than Morrowind. Of course it's going to be more like Oblivion. IMO ;)
