Honeyside Glitch

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:39 pm

Ok I bought the Honeyside house in Riften and originally had the enchanting lab in the basemant. I decided to swap it out for a kids room bc I was thinking about adopting. I didn't go back into the house after paying for the swap, and went off to do some more quests. I saved the game and later when I came back home the basemant was a mesh of both the enchanting lab AND the kids room. I have both sets of furniture on top of each other. It's a mess and I don't know how to fix it. I'm on the xbox so I can't mod this myself. I can't reload an older save bc I only keep one save at a time to limit freezing which is a big problem with my game. Am I just screwed?

Unless you know someone on the PC that will take your savefile for you and fix it, another save is about all one can do, AFAIK.

You should keep more than one save but limit them to 5 and at least transfer the other saves to either the cloud or a thumbdrive. Do not delete them or write over another save. Also, disable all autosaves and make manual saves often.

I've been deleting them then making a new save. How do I save to cloud?

Go into the settings or the system menu and you can copy/move files from your HD to your Cloud storage. I'm not sure if you have to have an XBL Gold account or not, but you will have to be connected to the internet. Otherwise, just plug in a thumbdrive.

When I played on the 360, I used the thumb drive. Very useful! (I still have them too)

Oh! I know that can happen on PC but I never knew it could happen on Xbox too, I figured it was a mod issue. Clearly not though. Its a simple fix on the PC but obviously thats not possible here.

I wonder what would happen if you went back to the steward and switched it back to the enchanting lab? Maybe the new choice would clear up the mish mash and replace it with the new thing assuming that what happened was just a fluke. Then if that works, you could try switching back to the kids room and hoping it worked that time.

Of course, the risk is that you would have a bigger mish mash of two enchanting rooms and a kids room, but it probably wouldn't hurt to try.

I went back to the steward and the option to decorate my house only comes up with the "Nevermind" option. There's no option to swap them anymore. I was hoping to swap back and fix it, but I'm stuck with it. I've just been keeping the door closed so I don't have to look at it, and will wait to adopt until I buy another house. I like the Riften house because it's close to the thieves guild and has a nice view of the lake. Maybe this is the divines way telling me my thief/assassin shouldn't raise kids?

That's from wiki:

If the children's bedroom is purchased from the Riften Steward after previously purchasing the enchanting room, the objects from the enchanting room may still be in the children's bedroom, the different objects become merged.
