Honor thy Modder?

Do you think Bethesda should acknowledge the modders who made mods which they drew inspiration from in some small way in game. For example, there can be an NPC who teaches one-handed skill in a Companions guildhall by the name of Sky with the rank of Captain.

It'd be a nice gesture, but they don't have to do anything.

It'd be the nice thing to do. Unfortunantely Bethesda is an evil corporation that will destroy mankind, and thus, is not nice.

They should be in the credits. It would be even nicer if they were payed a small amount or given the game for free.

In a way Todd Howard was honoring Duke Patrick (though he didnt say his name) when he talked about a mod that made bows slower and more powerfull, thats Duke's mod! He goes by spooxyfx, an amazing modder.

As for the finishing moves those are NOT from Fallout 3, they were inspired by SkyCaptain, and his mod Deadly Reflex.

As for opening containers and flowers disappearing when you pick them, thats= Harvest Flora and Harvest Container.

Just because a mod adds X doesn't mean that Bethesda adding X is drawing inspiration from the mod, both could easily be a response to the same player requests. When TES III Tribunal added a mercenary you could hire I'm pretty sure they were responding to the many requests for hireable mercenaries, rather than specifically drawing inspiration from the mods that did the same. However if the devs were inspired by a specific mod, alone or in addition to player requests, it would be cool for them to say so.

(I realize I'm biased in the other direction, but there seem to be many times people say, "They're doing X in Skyrim, they must have been inspired by this mod!" when I interpret it as "They're doing X in Skyrim, they must have listened to the frequent player requests for this.")

Devs have mentioned specific mods that they like, and mods are often featured on the blog. While this doesn't acknowledge inspiration, which I realize is the specific request here, at the very least it is calling attention to modder accomplishments. Funny enough I can think of one instance of the opposite situation. It was an interview, I believe about the developement of one of the TES III expansions, where a dev mentioned that they hadn't considered certain features because modders had already tackled these topics en messe and done a good job with them. I wish I had a link to it.

Bethesda dont acknowledge modder s directly, properly for legal reasons.

But they do frequently mention that mods influence desicion,s just not stating which ones exsactly.

EDIT: I do wish they would bring back modder interviews though, those used to be good and it gave modders something to strive for.

1) What i meant by small things could be a name of a person, dog, cat or seal or a small item, nothing too fancy.

2) Adding to the credits would belittle the efforts of Bethesda staff who worked their ass off for the project, so no, no credits for modders.
