Hoover Dam freezing problem

First off, this game is amazing and I haven't really had any major issues with it up until this point. But this is really a game breaker. I can't go ANYWHERE NEAR the Hoover Dam without my game freezing, and if I fast travel directly there it just outright crashes... The game runs like a dream for me on high settings, but even when I turn down the graphics setting the the absolute minimum it still crashes/freezes whenever I approach the Dam. So I'm pretty certain it's a problem with the game and not my hardware because the game runs perfectly fine when I'm nowhere near the Hoover Dam.

Is anyone else having this problem? I really doubt that I'm the only one.... and if so, is there a way to fix this or am I just going to have to wait for a patch?

im on 360 and although it doesnt crash there the framerate slows down and other bugs like companions in the floor,i had boone walk through a ranger but instead of coming out the otherside of him he appered at the entrance.i allways thought there was something about that place that pushed the console to the edge of its limit making it run bad

Only lag I had at Hoover Dam was during Arizona Killer while on my NCR playthrough, framerate slowed down so much, crashed a total of 5 times too.
