I hope I can see ALL my equipment on my character.

Post » Tue Jul 13, 2010 2:45 am

I want to see my bow, quiver, sword, dagger, supply pouches, rucksack, picaxe... all hanging off my travel worn character.

I hope dirt, grit, damage and blood all accumulate over time so that there is a clear difference between crawling into a town after a hefty jaunt in the wild to when I restock, rest and repair before heading back out.

You know this is one thing I really don't care about. I play in first person mode and don't think I ever even looked at my characters in MW and OB once I was done with character generation! This has to be right at the bottom of the list for me.

I definitely don't want to see my backpack. A whole load of potions and swords and scrolls all hanging out from it. The dirt and girt thing is fine.

Considering just how much equipment the average player carries, I think it would be impossible to show it all.

I'm all for it. Of course, prior to this, inventory size needs some heavy downscaling.

I think showing hotkeyed stuff would be good (within reason). As an Assassin I tend to carry a bow, arrows, dagger, and Longsword. It would be nice to see all these things on my character at once.

Considering the insanely large amount of supplies the average RPG character carries with them I think it would be.

If I carry a sword, I'd like a sword to show up. If I use a bow and arrow, and a dagger for melee, I'd like the bow and arrows to show up on my back, and the dagger on my side. That's about it really. Grim would be good too I suppose...

For more information on the ridiculous loads of rpg characters, may I direct you to the kotaku bureau of weights and measurements where they specifically talk about how ridiculous some of Bethesda's weight ratings are :D . http://kotaku.com/5296222/kotaku-bureau-of-weights--measures-studies-fallout-physics-also-beer

I dont think so but im not positive. I havent played oblivion in years. It gets to a point where you have played a game so much, that you cant even stand to play it anymore. Im sure some of you know what i mean.

+1

Plus as mentioned, the amount of stuff you carry is often ridiculous. You will look like this http://tenerife-training.net/Tenerife-News-Cycling-Blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/tips-on-travelling-light-carry-on-baggage-pack-backpack-suitcase.jpg

Your rings did appear in Oblivion. As did amulets and such. It was usually cover by armor or clothing though.

Within reason, I would like this. I never carry around ten swords. I usually carry around a few repair hammers, regardless of my repair skill, and a backup short-sword. My arsenal usually consists of a long sword, short sword, and bow with a few arrows. Unfortunately, I do not see this happening for the reasons others specified. :(

Oh well.
