I hope Dragon Mounts are in !

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:19 pm

Why, just why, do people make keep making these dragon mount topics?

For the millionth time: NO. I'm not even a "it's against lore" person, but even I have to agree riding Dragons in this game would be just wrong.

I wonder if an "outlandish ideas" thread that moderators could direct people to for this kind of thing might be better...

OT: No, generally speaking. If it was an end-of-game, lesser-dragon-surrenders-and-becomes-companion thing done with class and restraint, it could be interesting. But considering the resource requirements (anims, and the rest) I doubt it'd be worth it.

Monster mounts, on the other hand, I'd absolutely love to see in the game (wyverns, giant spiders, unicorns, wolves, bears, elk).

I'm surprised it took this long for this topic to come up. Just the other day I was commented to my brother how I couldn't believe no one had brought it up yet.

Well, seeing as we are fighting the dragons, I'd think not.

The only time there is evidence of Dragon Mount is in Battlespire when the academy of the battlemages is overrun with Dagon's minion and even than, one mage end up using a dragon that was station there to fly out of there and escape because teleportation is not possible as it is impossible at that point. Both the rider and the dragon are dead.

That say, they are demigods and seeing gods in such a degradable situation is a big no-no for me. Better off the horse get a revamp from being a carrier of storage, mount combat, etc rather than adding a "dragon mount".

I say nay, based on solely lore. If you are the Dovakhiin it would make even less sense, considering you are the slayer of dragons. Dragon riding has always been a fantasy nerdgasm of epic proportions, but it simply would not work in Skyrim.

I dont want a dragon to ride either, but please dont get self righteous on people as tho you are lore master, this stuff will be new lore with what could be new rules, you dont know anymore about the story then the rest of us so dont be saying impossible and game ruin-er you have no idea what can and cant be implemented into skyrim at this point, and all have the right to dream no dream is stupid

They have. It's just that these topics go down so fast you must have missed the previous ones...

I think maybe they should try to perfect riding on horseback a little more or at least match Red Dead Redemptions horseback riding before we go galavanting off into the sky on a dragon...

Dude, I'm from Poland, I'm not very patriotic and I can really aprrecciate a good joke even (or especially) if it's about Poles, but that one wasn't funny (although thepeople on the pic might be considered stupid). In the future if you're making a joke about another culture, make it a good one...

It was the only picture that was clearly of Polish people that I could find. I only called them stupid because of the aforementioned typo. I apologise if I caused offence.

Personally I think it's a horrid idea. I'll ride a horse but a bloody dragon makes no sense.

No offence taken, I just wish you'd use something like http://www.fun.net.pl/Zabytki_From_Hell/2004/2004-03-17/droga-dla-rowerow.jpg

I hope you can get a dragon mount, but as soon as it takes off the thing kicks the bucket. Apparently, dragons aren't used to carrying things on their back. It seems, since no one tried an lived, that there's a soft spot on their back when touched severs a major artery.

...but he was making a joke off of them being Polish, not necessarily them being stupid. If he would have linked that picture no one would have gotten the joke he was trying to make, they would only have seen a funny picture.

When I hear this topic mention I think of three things. 1. WoW 2. I can't remember this one now :S 3. How To Train Your Dragon

My response: No thanks. I don't want anything called a "mount" for one. And it's not likely that it would get implemented gracefully enough that my first thought wouldn't be WoW. I guess I wouldn't care to ride a dragon, but it'll be awhile before it can be done smoothly especially with all the other things going on at once. I'll stick to a horse or feet for now.
