A Hope for a true quest.

Thats why i like stealth because it relies heavily on a tactical aproach rather then a "lets just break things" aproach.

One of my favorite quests in Oblivion is the one given to you by the shop keeper in Chorrol were you had to find out what happened to her daughter. I found this quest to be so much fun because it didn't specifically say "go to this dungeon thats where she is," instead I had to go talk to the people in Hackdirt (I think thats what it was called) and figure out where she was. Granted this quest wasn't to challenging, but it was fun basically interviewing people and investigating the situation on your own. I hope we have more quests like this in Skyrim (when you have to find someone you need to look for clues as to where they might have gone, not just magically know).

I agree that was a nice quest, and it got around the compass problem well.

I just had a great recollection of old RPGs I used to play! There used to be secret doors and passages ways, walls you can open or just go through because it's an illusion and what not! Those made dungeons more interesting as well! Oh and I mean with no levers for some walls and more discrete (not universal) levers for others.

Just give me a compass that only tells me which direction I'm facing, a small scrap of map that I can add to as I go, and wish me the best of luck. That's all I ever wanted in an RPG. I don't need to be lead around by the testicles by a glowing bread crumb trail, or have a giant exclamation point over everything that might be interesting.I'm not saying to take out features from others who might need or want them, but the ability to turn some of them off would be nice.

Well, removing the magic compass will help with this issue.. so let's hope that odd thing is gone this time

Well you can play the game in hudless mode.

Yes that's a very annoying feature in games these days.
