I hope we have that Fall Out Wasteland creepiness

I hope skyrim has that same feeling of tension like in? Fallout 3 when you're out in the wasteland, like youre afraid youre going to encounter something mean... :spotted owl:

I know what you mean, only I don't want them to replicate it exactly, only to find the correct application to Skyrim itself

saw this, thought it was funny and appropriate :P

"Greetings, dearest Community. This is your president, John Henry Eden, lets chat, shall we. We live in an age of poverty, greed, violence, destruction. Indeed the very seat of the federal government, The skyrim general discussion forum, has been reduced to what is now known as the Forum Wasteland. The Forum Wasteland, how did it come to this Community? How did your leaders allow the most powerful series on Earth to die? The answer is really quite simple. Incompetence. Incompetence at the highest echelons of power. We put our trust, our faith, in halfwits. Our intrepid leaders had everything they wanted; power, wealth, prestige. It made them lazy Community. Oh yes, and laziness breeds stupidity. Rest assured, I will not make the mistakes of my predecessors. When John Henry Eden builds a game, he builds it to last. The Community Way. Dont you, my darling Community, deserve that? Dont you deserve a game filled with war, and fear, and terrible uncertainty? Of course you do. As President of the Elder Scrolls, you have my solemn pledge. That I will never rest, never rest, until we have we have what we deserve. A game to truly call Home. Until we meet again, this is John Henry Eden, signing off."

SK is supposed to feel grittier, and much darker, just like Fallout 3 was. Morrowind and Oblivion were happy.
Well, musically MW was happy.

Yeah, FO3 felt harrowing at times. I think the worst was when I was looking for the bobblehead in that house in the middle of the cemetery. The sense of loneliness and fear was pretty overwhelming. I sometimes felt something like that while exploring Ayleid ruins in Oblivion. However, I got a sense of wonder from exploring the outside environments, so I hope we get a healthy mix of settings. Considering how much importance is being placed on stars and constellations in the thematic trappings of Skyrim I'm very eager to see the nighttime sky.

I think certain areas, like the volcanic area for instance, should be a bit disconcerting to travel but I don't know about creepyness (though fall forest at night might be a bit creepy!). I feel like there will definitely be more atmosphere to Skyrim than Oblivion.

well... you know the impending doom of the entire world is coming soon as the eternal god of destruction is planning his return while the nation is embroiled in a bloody civil war with magic and destructive daedric gods destroying civilization all while massive dragons sent by the god of destruction to kill all mortals are sent a long with overall havoc of Tamriel has normally... so yeah, i think skyrim will have a happy vibe to it, no?

I hated that feel in Fallout. It was a sense of loneliness.

They shouldn't have that in Skyrim, nor should they aim for it.

He is not asking for super mutants and sniper rifles in Skyrim. He is hoping that the tension created in FO is carried over to Skyrim, setting is irrelevant...

To the OP, I am not expecting much of this when it comes to traversing the wilderness of Skyrim from what I've seen in videos. However I am expecting it amplified for the many dungeons we are going to get to explore.

i know the tension you speak of. however, i like the peaceful feeling you get exploring
the vibrant world of TES with a certain sense of danger. i'm not sure i'd want "creepiness" except
perhaps in caves.

i loved that feel in FO, the desolet feel of a wasteland

it should not be in skyrim, skyrim is not so desolet, it should have a sense of wonderment with an underlaying sense of fear

That was just for Fallout because of Nucluear Fallout, dark, gritty surival feeling,I for one didn't like it and did not like the game because of it,Skyrim will have the feeling of a cold harsh winter world,Like when the Vikings lived/Nordic and everyone is trying Surive The Dragons and Such.

Uh, that's ridiculous. He's not asking that we import the Chinese Assault Rifle or anything. He just appreciated the ambiance and thinks there's a place for it in Skyrim. I agree, though I don't think it should be as pervasive in a TES game.
