Nah, that's not very realistic IMO... If you want to get rid of a body, then you need to hide it somewhere or throw it into a river. It doesn't make a lot of sense to make bodies magically disappear.

Idc if it is realistic or not it shouldn't be in because the bodies should just have a set time that they disappear after. But I agree with Mark and Recall (Especially if we can have more than one Mark), and the removing of spells.

i agree with mark+recall and deleting spells
however, for the corpse dispose, would be better to make them carryable, with realistic physics, so you could drag them into an alley or something, then have them decompose over time.

This is actually an interesting topic to propose to gamesas ... as it appears they are doing away with the entire Mysticism school of Magic for Skyrim. If Mark/Recall does make a comeback, which school of Magic is it rolled into? It seems that that Mark/Recall would be relatively easy to program into the game ... but is there any philosophical reason for the developers to leave it out? I would love to see mark/recall back for Skyrim ... and it is a good forums question.

I would say it would be wherever Telekinesis went. It's moving an object from one place to another via magic so... Alteration?

I would like hiding bodies, It would give the grab button an actual use.

But bodies should just disappear after a set amount of time to reduce save file size and decomposition is probably too gory.

Yeah... magically disappear... *wipes blood and flesh from face* :whistling:

but i agree. no "click to erase" corpses. You should have to drag/hide them.

Meh, rather not see mark and recall return (and most likely won't) and as for dispose corpse, I hope that we can drag bodies into bushes or dispose of them in a river so that guards or citizens won't find the bodies and start poking around.

Using magic to magically make bodies disappear doesn't make sense? Why would a mage get his hands dirty with such a mundane task as disposing a body when he has magic available.

Magic doesn't solve everything. There are reasonable limitations to magic in the TES mythos. Maybe push it off the road with magic or burn the corpse to ash with magic but magically making it disappear....meh.

So, I can make myself disappear, through invisibility. And others too, at least in Oblivion. There has also been the ability to teleport. But these options should be off limits to dead bodies because?

Any particular reason you don't want mark and recall to return? I hate to use this argument, but you could just... not use it

I think Mark and Recall was particularly useful for dungeon looting (especially if said dungeon is quite long and contains a lot of heavier items which our character of less-than-magnificent-strength needs to make a trip back and forth to the nearest settlements multiple times to stash/sell off the loots,) or for some other special instances during a quest line. But a method to prevent the sort of exploit which existed in Morrowind is needed, so perhaps they can make the Recall spell to be heavily resource intensive (resource-heavy as in it drains ALL your remaining magicka and fatigue no matter how proficient you are in the related magic discipline or what level you are) and requires a few moments of casting time to be executed and should not be interrupted. I dunno; I really hope a return for it but only with some improvements/restrictions.

edit:@Ragamuffin
But how about the utterly magic-inept characters? The only way for them to make the corpses completely disappeared is to eat them whole or something :S

I'm only talking about magically inclined players for the magic option. Obviously, there should be options for both magical and non-magical characters.

Because they're dead, obviously.

Way to twist his/her sentence out of context but I admit that I did chuckled a bit at this anyway. Nice :D

I don't want "dispose corpse" option to be in Skyrim, instead a better drag system and enemies getting alerted by dead bodies. If we can drag them to hiding it would be the same thing but not randomly teleporting them away ala MW.

I wasn't really trying to be funny here...

You also can't turn other objects invisible, like kegs or tables, so I doubt it would work on a lifeless corpse.

I'd love to see Mark and Recall again, I'm quite disappointed that they were gone in Oblivion. Is there no Mysticism School anymore?

As for the bodies, I don't care either way. This isn't a stealth game like Thief or Hitman, so if I can 'cheat' and remove bodies, so be it, but if I can't, then I'll deal with that too.

They could include an option where if you'd killed someone with a Melee/Ranged weapon rather than a spell you can burn them with a spell, or with a torch and turn them to ash. But the spell would have to require quite a high level in destruction and burning with the torch would take forever.

Or like someones already said, hide the bodies, or throw them in a river.

I would assume they took out Mark/Recall because fast travel almost, but not quite, made it irrelavant. Sure, you couldn't quite load yourself up with 5,000 pounds of gear and away you go, but if you carried just the right amount you could FT to a city and walk to the merchant or your house.

Since it seems FT or a variation of it will be in Skyrim I don't see it coming back, but I wish it would. I really liked it.

I hope you have a better option to drag/carry bodies. That way I wouldn't have to look at Glathir's body lying naked in the street after I frenzied him and the guards killed him for me. Boy was he annoying. I could have dragged his body to a corner where I didn't have to look at him. Or the guards could have cleaned up their mess.

EDIT: Maybe allow you to fast travel to your house (if you buy one) so you can drop off your loot and sell at your leisure.

Skills (and maybe derived perks) which could help you with disposing of bodies:

One-handed / two-handed weapon, but some sort of axe required — chop the body into mystery meat.
Destruction — burn it.
Alchemy — dissolve it in active chemicals.
Sneak — just plainly hide it somewhere.

Those are called "Bosmer", and yes, they DO eat their dead. Something to do with the "greenpact", which forbids them killing for anything but survival. If you kill someone or something, you have to use (as in "eat") the corpse.
