I hope Skyrim to be more exotic compared to oblivion

It looks more fitting, but not necessarily exotic.

In the term of monsters I hope it is though.

Exactly each location is it's own style, I don't think Morrowind's exoticness fitted in with OB's world.

I have to disagree there. I don't play fantasy games to see an exact copy of real life, there are lots of games set in the real world to satisfy that desire, and while I can't name any good open world RPGs set in the real world, there are a fair amount of open world sandbox games with a realistic world, look at Red Dead Redemption, for a while. When it comes to fantasy, I want to see worlds that are strange and unique, this doesn't have to mean giant mushrooms, but they should stand out from other fantasy worlds in some way, and for the sake of that, sacrificing some realism for artistic license is a good thing.

I see what you mean, but when I play a game, I want to do things I wouldn't do or wouldn't be able to do in real life. For this to be fun and interesting, I need the game world to be realistic. It doesn't have to be an exact copy of real life. In the case of TES games, I'm fine with things like magic and monsters, but for the game to be believable, it should look realistic.

Shame Red Dead Redemption isn't available on PC. So far I haven't found any other open world games that I really enjoy besides Oblivion, FO3 and New Vegas.

Skyrim doesn't look exotic but compared to Oblivion, it looks way better.

One of the things i really liked in Morrowind(and it was completely vanished in Oblivion)was the sense that you were in an "alien" world.Giant mushrooms, strange cities, exotic locations.Really it gave you a sense of uniqueness. In Oblivion nothing was really exotic.Even the Ayleid ruins were at some point more annoying to explore than interesting. So i hope Beth wont make the same mistake and this time they will describe a civilization that it is not exactly the same as the European nordic civilization but a different one....

Yeah, the pacing in Morrowind was perfect, starting you off in the "imperialized" southwest before moving on to more and more twisted places. And that was not only because of the landscapes, but story-wise as well, with a true sense of the natives' hostility towards outsiders, and making mortal enemies of certain factions. As much as I love Oblivion, Cyrodiil seems like a perhaps too friendly place in comparison, quite uniform and never "against you" in the same way as Morrowind was.

That's the best example of what made Morrowind so unique. That feeling of "I don't f******** know what THAT is...so I think I'm avoiding it" is simply incomparable. I wonder if Skyrim will have it also, at least one or two times...

I REALLY hope so...that sort of things is what turns games into legends :)
