hope you don't pull a new vegas on us..

-.- You can't assume things like that as NV wasn't made by BGS, but Obsidian. The "map" of the world in NV is quite many things. Impossible to really argue against or especially for your point of view as it is based on basically nothing at all.

Edit: Obvious troll is obvious

Even though the concern could be legit, do you think he is trolling?

Whats the big beef with Fallout NV?? Sure it had its flaws, but there is a reason it was called FO NV rather than FO 4.

I dont want invisible walls and boundaries that I can agree on. It does kind of worry me that the mountain terrain might contain a lot of 'unreachable' areas...but I think there is a reason that TES games dont come out every couple years. They know what they are doing.

Um, guys? Bethesda didn't make Fallout: New Vegas. Obsidian did. Whatever flaws NV did or didn't have, they weren't Bethesda's doing.

Other people have said this, but I don't think anyone's listening . . . :sadvaultboy:

compared to fallout new vegas.. oblivion is an endless world..

trust me... and now that the skyrim map is so much smaller than Oblivion.. I fear it will be even more thrown together..

whats up with that by the way?...

Oblivion > fallout 3 > new vegas > skyrim .... in map size?

Skyrim is the same size as Oblivion.

-.-

there is a 20 minutes podcast from back in september .. Todd Howard talks about the upcoming New Vegas.. he says
Howard: Obsidian will bring all their ideas to us.. and they have so many.. we look at them and go, well can't you do this, or what about doing this... so some things we go with some things we don't
interviewer: so its really a collaboration?
Howard: oh yes very much

and to the other question.. no I'm not saying They are lying.. Howard wasn't lying when he said New Vegas would be a little smaller then Fallout 3... (and if he made it or not.. it was still him promoting it) ..
and he was right.. except it was a lot smaller..

now Bethesda said that Skyrim would be slightly smaller than Oblivion..
at gameinformer.com Howard also talked about how they didn't wanna bore people by endless open fields.. (making it more compact)
and I'm just seeing a lot of the same warning signals..

I think I recall Todd saying that we can explore the mountain in the "ask Todd" interview with gameinformer, when I think about it. Hopefully the concern about invisible walls are far from accurate.

Or, as I stated a few pests back, ha might be trolling. I can see the concern though, but I think the invisible walls got a lot of crittic. Hopefully they won't be in.

You do realize your asumptions are still based on nothing? The examples you give us a false, MW IS NOT BIGGER THAN OB! Fallout games cannot be compared to TES games when it comes to size. You do realize an area that is vertically huge and gets flattened down covers quite a bigger area than it would if it was only flat. I welcomed the change Obsidian brought to NV because not all games can be the same, that's be plain boring.

no I know that you can't just look at the map..

but they said it wouldn't be as big as oblivion.. but almost..
thats exactly what they said about new H
Ivegas about fallout 3.. and new vegas ended up being a shivering isle...

If you can actually quote that.. I'll believe you..

'
and you fail to grasp the concept of history... you're all too high on the skyrim trailer and too defensive about the game..

Morrowind > oblivion > fallout 3 > new vegas... thats how its look so far.. in map size..

why should that change? they already covered their asses by saying it would be smaller than oblivion..

and to XXantibodyXX... bethesda was supervising that process.. Obisidian used Bethesda's tools.. they based the game on the fallout 3 experience.. its not like Bethesda
can completely wipe their hands clean regarding that game.... besides.. Todd Howard was the one so hugely promoting new vegas before it came.. not much of what he said turned out to be true.

you lose credibility saying that. Morrowind map was smaller than oblivion.

all while you ignore everything I write?.. what is it you can reason me with?.. the fact they didn't say skyrim was gonna be a small game?.. wouldn't exactly be good marketing..

everything I wrote here is true.... deal with it:

Todd Howard has stated that he loves making TES games so that some can look somewhere and then travel there so I really doubt that Bethesda will put in invisible walls like what happened in New Vegas

In truth, Todd said that Skyrim would be roughly the same size(how many times do we have to mention it?) as OB. That means it might be slightly bigger or smaller, but it also implies that they try to keep it the same size.

deal with it:

Okay then buddy, I'll stop trying to lessen your fears by telling you silly things like facts. Yes, Bethesda approved everything Obsidian did, from every building placed to every Molerat spawned. Obsidian asked if a thousand invisible walls was enough and Bethesda said "Better make it 2000." When Obsidian tried to make the map as interesting and entertaining to explore as Fallout 3, Bethesda got angry and told them to scrap the whole thing because it wasn't boring enough. These are lies, but it seems like these are what you want to hear, so there you go.

Obsidian, not Bethesda...
Obsidian is a "branch?" off black Isles studios (FO1,FO2) and they just added to their franchise.
