I never encountered a game breaking or annoying bug in Morrowind nor in Oblivion, so I guess I was lucky.

They're working with a new, updated engine made by themselves, so really, I don't how they can royally screw up with bugs like in Fallout 3.

Yeah me neither (replace Morrowind with Fallout 3 though), sure Oblivion had a bit of stuttering at times but after all these years, it's never crashed or had a serious problem on the Xbox. Fallout New Vegas had a game-breaking crash ONCE on my PS3 and there is a slight problem with the nightsky textures but it still runs perfectly fine for me.
I'm sure Skyrim will play just fine for me, and even if it crashes once or twice, it's not going to bother me that much.

Fallout: New Vegas was developed by Obsidian, so it makes this thread completely pointless, although it is a Bethesda game, so it is likely that there will be a few bugs.

In such a big game you're bound to get some bugs, but yeah hopefully not as many as new vegas, even though obsidian made it.

Why do people use FO:NV, a game developed by another company, as a benchmark for Skyrim? Just plain silly.

There were loads of bugs in Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 when they were first released. Thankfully, Bethesda were quick on the case to stomp them out wherever they were found.

Here we go again, ok forumers, especially old timers, bugs are a part of Beth tradition, if you think for one minute your going to get a bug free game, dream on, seriously, don't be naive, it's a huge world with a massive amount of content, even with last minute bug squashing they will not get them all.

Four reasons I'm confident there will be far fewer (unpatched) bugs in Skyrim:

1) Larger team. The Oblivion team was overworked, for example, every dungeon in the entire game was made by one designer. There are 30+ more people on the Skyrim team.

2) Incremental patching. There will be more and more frequent patches that will include annoying little stuff as well as larger quest/game-breakers,

3) Closer dialog with the developers. I know us unofficial guys will be getting as many bugs reports if not more than the Bethesda team, so I'll be starting a bugtracker and have opened a dialog with Bethesda to forward them the vetted, confirmed finds so that they can fix them officially.

4) Streamlining. There's simply less to break with no classes, three stats, and no spellmaking among others.

And, yeah, FO:NV != Bethesda Game Studios. :P

Of course there are many bugs in this kind of game, but don't worry - if they're not releasing updates for them the modders community is doing so.

That's sad to hear. I have used to think TES games only by the PC-gamers perspective,so bugs are not a big deal for me.
