Hoping new survival mode can be played on any difficulty

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:54 pm

I'm really hoping survival mode is a toggle at game creation so we can play it without facing regular super mutants that require 1000 rounds of ammo to put down.

It sounds amazing, but survival mode as it currently stands is a bit much...

Survival really isn't that bad. You just are forced down a very linear path. Grab all the damage perks asap, and use a good legendary weapon and the difficulty is actually easier then the 'normal' setting. Get the medic perk, if the survivals healing rate is to slow..

Once the kit comes out we will see some fun things done to increase difficulty. My own plan is to increase number of enemies, mod out the perks that increase damage, get rid of unbalanced legendary weapons. Idea being the difficulty comes from the number of enemies, and there isn't a short cut to increase your own damage to godlike levels.

Anyhow, back on topic. I hope they do more for survival then simple meters. Those things were just tedious in New Vegas.

I say having immortal NPC's, the Player Characters (PC's) health regenerate, and armor and weapons not breaking is having "training wheels".

None of those things are related to difficulty other than regeneration, I don't see your point.

Well in terms of difficulty I can say immortal NPC's can be contributed to it because you can send your immortal companion(s) into mine fields to trip them to explode instead of dying. Therefore clearing a path for your Player Character (PC) to safely cross the land.

Armor and weapons not breaking being invincible the same thing you won;t have to focus in combat to change your armor and weapons.

Your companions can get knocked out for the fight, Im glad degeneration is gone it made so many unique weapons unusable.

I know companions can get knocked out. It doesn't stop you from abusing it though. It may take a while, but you can still abuse it.

If your one of those people who have patience to wait. I guess.

Either way it all the features I talked about can be contributed to "training wheels".
