Horrible friend

Post » Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:22 pm

I have a friend that really loves video games. He plays them almost everyday and he's very good at them too. But no matter what I say or do, he refuses to play Fallout 3.

He doesn't say that he doesn't want to play or that he doesn't like that type of game. He just doesn't say anything. It's like he can't even hear me when I talk to him about it. I've shown him videos and reviews and nothing works.

What should I do?!?!? It's driving me insane!!!

Get the Speech bobblehead, wear Yew's bear charm and Eulogy's hat, take your Lucky 8 Ball with you, and try again. They will come around eventually. :)

I had a friend with the same type of mindset.

He's seen the game and said "It's a little to sadistic for me". He's more into the immature stuff like Call of Duty (and by immature I mean a younger average age plays it).

I just stopped trying, but it's kind of funny because he's missing out on a lot.

The game just takes a while to get into :|. It took me a few days to really start playing it non-stop.

If FEV doesn't work, then your friend is hopelessly out of order and must be discarded.

In the same way that the Deathclaw Gauntlet works, a good, industrial strength wedgie actually overrides the damage resistance of whatever armour the target may be wearing. Even a Power Armoured Enclave soldier is helpless against it, though a high sneak skill is required to execute it effectively.

Lets hope that New Vegas has finally included this in the list of unarmed skills.

I had a friend like that once. http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090505173749/fallout/images/4/4d/UncleLeo.JPG is the most recent pic of him.

Seriously though, after nearly two years of harping at him to play the game and showing him the actual gameplay he finally caved in and started playing. Good for him, but now he can't even find Moriarty's saloon,so I told him to go to the bomb and look up. He still doesn't get it.

Have a few friends that don't understand games like Fo3. Most would rather just play Cod 24/7..

here's your script:

*friend calls*
"Hey, man, you want to do X?" (friend)
"Sorry man, I'm playing Fallout." (you)
"Well what about Saturday?" (friend)
"Yeah um lemme check.... yeah, sorry, playing Fallout." (you)
"..." (friend) "Ok... well there's next week..."
"No, hang on, gotta kill this guy," (you, interrupting) "OMG HAHAHAAA!"
"what?! what?!" (friend)

"Dude I totally shot a car, it blew up and freakin flipped over, blowing up the dude I was shooting at." (you)

If THAT doesn't work... get a new friend. Seriously. Yours is broked.

Pity him, then leave him alone. He'll probably realize the error of his ways one day and end up kicking himself in the butt. If he doesn't, laugh at him and pity him some more. Poor guy...

Um why do you care what he buys or what he plays?

I think there's more something wrong with the OP than the OP's friend.

I know what you mean. I have a couple of friends, who have tried Fallout 3 but don't like it. Then there's my other friend... I can tell him to download a demo of a game I love, and he says alright. He never does it, he always says "Yeah, I'll do that sometime," and it's freaking me out. He also refuses to even try Fallout! At least try it, God dammit!

This could actually work. Just pretend you're too busy to hang out with him, as you're playing Fallout. That's bound to make him interested!

Haha, this reminds me, when fallout 3 came out i had never heard of the franchise before and i was actually detered by the kind of strange art work on the box and the unclear depiction of it's story and the game's graphics. But i was nontheless intruiged by the plot so i eventually diceded to procure it any way and have been playing the game ever since. It's simply, when i walked out of that vault..... i stood in utter awe, such.... serenity, a world blackened by the nuclear firestorm of human rage and anger, reduced to the ruined marks of former glory reminding of the devastating downfall that flowed from the apex of mankind. And then, the gameplay, the graphics, the sory, the roleplay, everything is awesome, it is truly one of the best, maybe thé best game that was ever made. I can only hope new vegas to match this level of perfection.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT1DCun3U9M is how Bethesda gets their voice actors to sign up for their projects. Might work on your friend aswell.

Oh, oh. Can I have him, then? ? At this point, any friend that's into gaming at all is good enough for me.

In return, you can have one of my BFF's. :)
Just be aware that she pretends her last name is 'Bieber', though.

I fear you may be right :)

but in defence of my fellow nerds why stop at just one persons friend, I think we need some kind of James Bond baddie style plan to convert all gamers into FO fans and then let the rebelion begin muhahahaha !
