No Horse - Just My Own Legs And Feet!

Post » Thu Mar 06, 2014 5:16 am

I have read several posts on the use of the horse, and how expensive they are. My solution?

I will simply not buy one. I will remain a foot soldier throughout my gameplay, believe it or not. I enjoy a good walk, in game and in my personal life. Im very patient, and i plan on taking my time when training my precious Orsimer. So im not in a hurry.

Now my question is. Are there any other crazy Orcs out there who plan to do the same? Oh-- and other races as well of course, don't get offended now.

Random thread isn't it... i just wanted to share my thoughts. Peace.

I tried this. Problem is the world is too big. When you say "on foot" you're really saying you'll use the way points which can be fairly expensive in the long run.

I'll use a pack horse, but when I go out there I rely on stealth and using a horse would make me easier to spot.

I would have been the same, but I will be Imperial, so apparently I get a horse. Any non-Imperial character of mine will probably walk for quite a while.

You'll fall behind in levels/gear.

With the free cost of teleporting from shrine to shrine, shouldn't be much of a problem. The distance between shrines didn't seem all that far to me.

Nah, as long as you travel from a wayshrine to a wayshrine you pay nothing.

Since I have ordered the imperial edition I think I'll be using the horse given to me.

I prefer to run everywhere until I get all my points in the skill passives that make all the resources I want have that glow aura.

I think Imperials should get a dressage race skill.

I make up in free time what I lack in speed.

The tags on this thread, by the way, are hilarious.

It's very costly to move from out in the world to a wayshrine. Shrine to shrine is free.

Again, i am not in a hurry. I play for myself, nobody else. I don't care about "falling behind" in a game honestly.

Nah, since farming is my passion, I love mounts, 'cause the hours spent are a lot more efficient...

Who cares? I mean, it's an Elder Scrolls game after all...

Yeah, this too! ^^

As a fellow Orc, I will be carrying my horse around on my back... just for the extra inventory space.

A part of my RP rule, I walk everywhere and will not use a horse or wayshrines when I am doing solo content. If I am part of a group or doing group content, I do what the group does -- use a horse or a wayshrine.

In the end it's not really a matter of enjoyment but time preservation, if you don't have a set time and enjoy the roleplay part of it, go ahead, but if you have a 2-3 hours a day schedule, then it can become troublesome and outright frustrating in pvp.

Just grab all the resources you see, refine them, and sell them. You can have (what is it for the cheapest, 17K?) 17K in a few hours no problem.
