Beats me how to operate a horse in OB. I can't get the thing to turn and once on it, I can't figure how to get off. Is there a horse tutorial here? In SK, all I needed to do was to move the mouse and the horse turned that way, but OB doesn't seem to follow the same rule or maybe I have a bugged horse. I got mine from the priory after an attack by guys in red robes.

Assuming you are using a PC, turn the horse with the 'A" and "D" keys. Go forward with the 'W" key and back with the 'S'. Use the mouse to look around without changing the horse's heading. Once you get used to it, you might find it nice being able to look around without wandering all over the road.

On PC - It's totally a one handed thing, I like the smooth gallop, just don't dismount (space bar) near very aggressive things like ogres because they will kill your mount, instead dismount well before or after a possible enemy. Finding the horse is hard if you've lost it because the game wont display things after a certain distance in your settings, plus the mounts may wander or try to return to their stable,. Mounting again and dismounting sometimes helps. Take your bearings and don't pursue herbs or npcs. Also you can get a mod called Dude, Where's My Horse, which adds the horse as a quest with an arrow. Love that one. You can just drop the esp file in the Oblivion Data folder and check it in the launcher

There's a trick to "calling your horse to you." Just fast-travel to the place you're already at! Since your horse automatically travels with you, it will appear.
