Horses and Horse Combat

I hope not. It's so hard to pick alchemy ingredients from a horse back. I prefer to walk. I almost never used the horse in Oblivion.

The number one atmosphere killing moment in Oblivion for me was having to get off my horse to fight something that was attacking me. I loved having a horse and I really hope they are still in Skyrim. It would be a huge disappointment if they removed them. For me as long as I can draw a weapon and swing it to defend myself while on horse back I will be happy. If most of the creatures are low to the ground and I can't hit them and I have to dismount I'm fine with that but if a wolf jumps at me or a Giant is within my sword range and I can swing and hit them I will consider that an upgrade and not an atmosphere killing part of the game like in Oblivion. It would be great if you could get knocked off you mount by a Giant or creature, have to fight them and your horse runs off and you have to go find it.

i agree........unless they do them like mount and blade i would just assume not have them. i never used them in oblivion anyways because when you ran you trained your athletics skill and after a certain point you were almost as fast as a horse anyways so what was the point in using them...........that and the annoyance factor of having to get off them to fight and then hope your horse doesnt get lost in the mean time. no just leave them out. make them a nord delicasse or some other reason why we dont see them.

That's what shadowmere's for. A mount/travelling bank.. >> lol

Horse fights, as in horses fighting eachother, would been interesting.

This was a common sport in Scandinavia in the viking age. And was considered a quite big and important event, people would bring their strongest horse and duel it against some others, to win honour etc.

I love that fast travel is back.

I mean, if you don't like it. Don't use it.

On topic: I don't care for Horse Armor but I want horse combat :)

honestly, I never cared about horse ridding or fighting, all in all I would not blink if they removed horses as controllable rides :P

The problem with adding horses and horse combat is that you really can't "just add it". The landscape of the entire world needs to be well designed for it. If the landscape is way too rough (as is the case in Oblivion) then riding a horse is a bad experience no matter how good you make the animations.

the annoyance factor of having to get off them to fight

Ohhhh yes. I stopped using them because I could never time that right.
