Horses are cursed w/ Berserk

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:46 pm

Horses are so messed up in this game. The moment I get off of them to attack some wolf they charge forward with massive rage. They don't care who I'm fighting, a dragon, wolf or even 3 decked out warriors.

They also like to sprint in a general direction for no reason whatsoever.

I've bought five horses so far, two of which vanished into thin air. Another two because they went all berserk on some spiders.

This is a problem in the game. I don't remember dealing with these berserked horses in Oblivion.

You should try fury on a chicken, it's a force to be reckoned with.

lol I know. With Necromancer perk that gives zombies extra 100 hitpoints, my undead chicken tears [censored] up.

The horses would attack in Oblivion and often in the same manner. My horse's behaviour seems OK though. It will occasionally steam into a fight but most of the time it runs off into the distance (which is rather annoying when trying to find them again). There is a horse in particular that has a well earned reputation though. I'll let you discover this for yourself though.

Horses are aggressive to the point of uselessness. I had a horse attack two wolves, killing one and chasing the other down a trail, killing it, and then attacking a nearby horker and bear. The bear killed the horse and then came after me.

I was hoping I could fix this in console by using setav aggression, but it is zero when not in combat. So there must be a script that controls the horse's aggression, which means we'll have to wait til the CS comes out before we can fix this.

In a way it's kinda funny, but yea, very annoying. I wish the horses worked like the ones in Red Dead Redemption.
