Hi I am new to the game but when I was at the Bay Roan Horse Stable, which is next to Bravil, I bought a Horse from Isabelle and she told me to go talk to Antoine Branck. Well I talked to him and he didn't say anything out picking a horse. So I just jump on one of the horses thinking it was ok. Well Antoine comes running at me and a guard says I committed a crime. HOW!?! I spent 1000 gold pieces on a horse I can't use. I re loaded a save and went to try it again and the same thing happened. Any help?

Once you've bought the horse, one of them outside will have a white horseshoe icon instead of a red one. Also it's name should be "my bay horse" instead of just "bay horse". If you get on the wrong one it counts as stealing and the guards will chase you.

If the icon is white, then it's alright! Is the motto I use to approach taking things in oblivion. :foodndrink:

I've never bought a bay horse from Bravil. My character spends loads of time in Bravil though. The only horse we have ever seen stabled there is Carandial's bay. He uses it to visit a nearby ruin regularly and often gets lazy and 'parks' it on the bridge. So, I'm not quite sure what horse the stable would sell, despite what UESP Wiki says. Bottom line, I'm not sure if buying a horse there is normally a problem or not. Perhaps someone else has successfully bought a horse at Bravil and can clarify.

What you may want to try is buying a bay horse from the Skingrad stable. I know they do have some stable owned horses there, presumably available to buy.

can clarify, it's not bugged. the horse may be standing for you on the path outside the Stables.

As stated before, look for a white symbol before mounting
