Horses in the wild... : IV

While, in chameleon mode, I was exploring the whole land to find more oblivion gates, I came across a herd of horses. They were about 4 to 5. I stayed among them for a while (so nice) but when I made myself visible, they all run away... Are they part of a quest? And what it is? (I could not click on them). Thanks

Wild horses are there to be there, immersion, all that jazz. Hoping in Skyrim we can tame them and keep them somewhere.

I have never seen wild horses in Oblivion ?! (accept for the Unicorn)

mmhm, you usually see a good bit in the fields southwest of the imperial city IIRC

Yes, they only occur in that one lakeside meadow area between the Red Ring Road and Lake Rumare, south of Imperial Isle. They will respawn if killed by predators. As you noted, they cannot be ridden.

Yes, true. And thank you for the indication. I was so amazed that I didn't remember where they were. Now I'll return again to have a second look. Beautiful. I like horses so much.
