Hosed Shelter

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 4:14 am

I got up to 132 dwellers and now fell into a loop and all my guys are dying of radiation poisoning. Is there any way out of this issue?

All my dwellers are unhappy and dying of radiation. svcks to be me.

I can't get my power back up I think that is the first problem. I have like 8 powerplants/nuke plants running with expert dwellers.

Use the time glitch found in this forum. But be sure not to overdo it. It will freeze your resources so you can get out of this situation and save your vault.

Rad sickness in the vault is a sign of insufficient water. Build some more water rooms.

By "expert" dwellers, I presume you mean dwellers with high points in that room's operant SPECIAL stat?

I currently have a healthy vault at 61 people and have been trying to train up my dwellers before expanding. So will building more water treatment (and obviously you need to build a radaway room) fix it? or are you hosed?

My mistake was leaving a couple of dwellers in each barracks and they kept making babies (since they had C of 10 it happened fast).

Oh, another dumb idea, I used the reproduction process to make all my dwellers 100% happy, lol. that backfired.

HOW the HELL can I decontaminate 130 dwellers?

LOL, I am sending those under level 5 into the wasteland to start.

There should be a way to decon the whole shelter.

RE: Specialists I took all my L1 dwellers and moved them through each training room, so I got a lot of guys with high stats.

Most important thing is to get your water stats up. Get that over the line and then some so you have some breathing room. A single water treatment plant filled with high perception Dwellers will do more than two water treatments plants and low perception. Rushing water rooms to build up your stockpile will help, but don't push your luck; too many failed rushes will just kill your dwellers faster and they won't be producing the precious water you need.

Next, a science lab. Dwellers heal slowly, and it makes them unhappy, you want to cure their radiation damage as soon as you have your water production sorted. Stimpacks will not heal radiation poisoning, you need to apply Radaways first! Radaways also heal for less points, so you might might need two Radaways to clear a dweller's radiation poisoning, but only one Stimpack to bring them back to full health.

It appears once your guys are 50% radiated they stop getting damaged by it.

pat, you could create a "death room" where you keep rushing, which will give you a few caps. and kill off excess low levels. then close some areas to better balance things. you need to build water and also a radaway bay.

Ends up that over time, radiation damage also heals. So what I did was

Drop back to 110 dwellers. Resurrected the dead I wanted to keep. Threw everybody I had into power production.

Now, if only there was a condem factory so I could raise my dwellers happiness responsibly.

I now have 30 people in training, still. 4-6 exploring.
