I decided to keep working on re-texturing the calcinators

This thread is for me to get some feedback and ask some texturing questions as well as share how I have animated textures in case anyone else wants to try

Here is the current http://1drv.ms/1ncRWWK - now in game it weighs about 25 being the heaviest of all the calcinators - I was looking for cast iron textures but settled on a rusty iron look - the original textures are referrred to as rusty iron or iron strip - in any case it needs to look heavy and lower quality than the others.

Now I tried adding a normal map but honestly I can't tell any difference in game - should I use a normal map or just a bump map?

http://1drv.ms/1ncSiMY - I took a video which looks fine on my desktop but sadly is blurry when uploaded to my Onedrive - it does show the effects though

I think they are flickering a little fast currently the textures rotate every 1.2 seconds - if I spin it out to 2 seconds it is not very smooth

So what did I do...

Well I added a flip controller to the texture property and then you just edit the controller to add the textures you want - however you have to then add an animation node to the scene node and copy paste the trishape you have the flip controller on - in this case the coals - onto the new animation node - set the animation node flags to 42

I also added some steam coming out of the top which hopefully you can see in the vid

I was wondering about having steam coming off the coals but think they might just be overkill - thoughts?

Anyways I'll have a go at the Journeyman one tomorrow
