2 hour poll concerning Combat Archery mod.

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:31 am

For the heck of it I tired using a weapon as the base for the Arrow Case.

This will work and you will now see the Arrow Case in your weapons section not in the Misc section of your inventory.
However you will see the word BOW when you hover your mouse on it and it will make BOW sounds when you pick it up off the ground plus other little "issues" like that.

I will take a nap for an hour or four then I will check this poll to see what direction I might go in on this.

But even if the poll says make it a weapon I may still veto the idea and keep it as a misc item.

If you do not use Duke Patrick's Combat Archery mod please do not vote. (As you probably do not understand WTF I am saying anyway.)

I don't suppose you've tried defining it as AMMO.

Putting the "onequip" block on it to allow transferring arrows into it while still in inventory might be enough to keep it from unequipping your real arrows. I should probably have tested that before I suggested it.

If not, it might be funny to see people shoot a great big arrow case across the countryside at the enemy :)

edit: Yup, should have checked that before I typed. Forgot the "no scripts on ammo" rule. Stupid rule anyway.

Capital idea!

YES

Ignore the votes in the third category - un-believers!

For those who don't get it - having access to where the arrows are stored in the weapons section and not at the butt end of your inventory where you have to fish through misc junk to find it.

You convinced me - voted for weapon cat.

And now it seems Oblivion does work on my computer :celebration:

I voted "Yes" :)

I can help you with the "BOW" part when you hover your mouse on it in the inventory, with my latest mod "Display Stats". It would be very easy for that mod to check if the highlighted item is an arrow case, and then change the icon and name in the popup.

[Shameless self-promotion]The Display Stats mod should be used by users of Combat Archery anyway, since it displays the health of each bow, which is something that Combat Archery modifies. :)[/Shameless self-promotion]

Uhm, initial thought - Nay says I, sorry folks for those that would and I understand the idea/convenience of the placing, if it could be placed up in the weapons section for convenience instead of having to go find it in a looong list of occasionally useful items or having to switch inventory tabs to narrow down the search for it..... I agree with the idea, its just the immersion breaking aspects which put me off, Combat Archery is polished (occasional bug accepted - but thats a learning process for our resident expert and author spooky).

Off Topic Feedback - Spooky the latest version we have seems to be working very well, particularly with recognising new bows and arrows with the {}, its just about instantaneous now whereas previously it was a bit hit/miss sometimes.

Lol. I had to re-read the question 3 times before I got what you meant. I voted for putting the case in the weapon menu.
