Fallout 4 9.9/10

A must play game for all types of players.

I took a week off work to play Fallout 4 and i just can not put it down. It is by far the best of the series, still i believe Obsidian Entertainment should make 4.5 like they did with new vegas.

Of course i have finished the game and scouted around 70 percent of the map and done almost all the side missions ( not the random never ending ones).

Almost done maxing out the last of my settlements and i have all my gear and weapons i want. My power armor has the cool red and black flames look that i love.

This was an unreal experience and i cannot wait for the next one.

What i really loved:

- The new skill/perk system
- Romance with piper
- The fact she calls you blue lol
- All the unreal companions from the jolly green gaint to X6 i loved it
- building up towns
- The fact you brought two things back from fallout 3 a certain doctor and machine made me laugh
- The Huge secret was unreal did not see that comming

Now for the bad (dont worry just minor things lol)

- Never ending calls for help every 5 minutes (feels like it lol). With my settlements sorted it just never ends and it would be nice if you had it slowed down to say now and then.

- Let us pull apart old buildings and really start from scratch or repair them.

- I would love to have more than 21 settlers in one place i really need like 50 per area.

- Clipping is a big problem with building.
Mainly grass shooting through anything you build and you can not stop it.

Not really much else to say best game i have played so far. I can't wait to see what obsidian does with 4.5 ( just give them more time lol).

How's the quality of the quests? (Most of what I've encountered so far are about killing and fetching items.)

It seems like the 10/10 reviews don't really take this into account.

+10

I'm at ~50 hours. Level 14. Five or six settlements.

I've been looking VERY hard for anything that is really "wrong" with this game, and I must say I cannot come up with much . . .

The fact that the "Scrapping" key ® must be confirmed with "Enter" on PC is annoying . . . being able to rebind that confirm key to be something like "Right Mouse Click" or even "Double-Tap R" would be better.

IMO, the vast majority of complaint threads that have been cropping up on this board belong to one of three categories: 1. histrionics; 2. sour graqes; 3. unrealistic expectations (e.g., judging this game by past titles); 4. excessively picky and contumelious disposition; 5. agents of competitor studios out to try to undermine the inevitable tidal wave of enthusiasm that is going to follow this game in the marketplace this holiday season.

I would hate to be on a team that was releasing some other title over the next 6 months, because FO4 is going to eat everyone else lunch ;)

Other than that ? ? Really hard pressed to find anything that I honestly am not pleased with. One thing that I really enjoy is that, the game is "hard" even without true "survival" mod dynamics (loot degradation, weighted bullets, damageable companions, hunger, thirst, fatigue, timed scrapping, etc.). I've been playing on Easy and that is perfect for me. Most critters are handleable, but some . . . Holy Crap! even on EASY they are a challenge!

Quite possibly the best game I have ever played, and definitely among the best games I have ever played.

Define "quality of quests?"

The dialogue dynamics, the characterization, and the atmosphere make even the most mundane and simplistic quests in this game fun.

The way some of the 'scripted' scenes (mostly dialogue) blend in with the game world, and the way they svck you in and solidify your suspension of disbelief, making you FEEL like your character would feel is the best I've ever seen in any game. I have not been living in Earth 2015, I have been living in Fallout 4, 2289 or whatever the date is . . .

First that comes to mind is in New Vegas, where you must find a sheriff for Primm. You can get the NCR to take Primm under their protection, or follow the recommendation from Deputy Beagle and recruit a former sheriff from NCR Correctional Facility, or program the robot Primm Slim to act as a sheriff. So there's a couple of ways you can complete the quest, and the outcome changes the world in a minor way. (At least it's more than what the usual "kill raiders" quest does.)

Basically, quests that can be resolved by various ways (without violence) using various skills/attributes (barter, intelligence, perception), and quests that give you some choice. And it's always nice when completed quests change something in the game world.

I agree, simple quests can be enhanced in some ways. A companion with interesting dialogue is a good choice for a dungeon crawl.

Well to each is their own on this one but let's just say i enjoy even fetching something. Because it may lead me to other things around it. Without spoiling much a certain fetch lead me to one insane boss fight lol.

Though the settlement related never ending quests are really annoying when your level 49 and have almost all settlements done. Because they don't stop comming up, you get to a point where you need to avoid (freedom radio, settlements and preston). Otherwise you will be swamped with quests you have done over and over in areas you have already cleared. You can simply not do them and put up with " YOU HAVE FAILED " crap lol.

Also the fact is when you are at this point like my self. There is no challenge in these never ending quests. You normally rock up to 3 to 5 mobs that you can just quickly punch in the head.

Personally i want a way to stop the never ending quests. One thing to have them there another to force them onto you at any time lol.

Well fo4 has a verity of interesting "decision making" quests. Like the last voyage for the ss whatever with the ship on the building. I've only played it once so I only know the ending where I help captain metal face start the ship's rockets. There's an option to betray them and work with scavengers to steal everything on the ship, which took me a while to decide against. I realized that it did effect the world when Travis mentioned what I did on the radio, he was amused with my work. I'm sure there are other quest that have similar important decisions to make.

There's a good objective for a quest, with lasting effects.
