hours played

There's a neat chart out of the number of hours that the Just Cause 2 community has logged playing that game, along with how many km's they've driven, how many people killed etc. It would be very interesting to see what kind of stats they would have if Oblivion or Morrowind were a strictly Steam based game and they could actually measure such a thing. I know I've probably logged hundred of hours of my life away. It might be a very humbling stat to see...

Haha. That would be cool. People play TES games for a lot longer than open world adventure such as JC2. I imagine the number would be in the millions, especially because there around, what, 7 million copies sold of Oblivion alone?

I played Arena for about 15-20 hours, Daggerfall for 50-80 hours, Morrowind 200+ hours and Oblivion probably 600 to 800 hours lol.

Excluding Arena(which I've probably played for about 30-40 hours), I've played them all(in the main series) for at least a couple hundred hours, but Oblivion is the only one that recorded playing time and so it is the only one I can give somewhat of a decent estimate for. Based on my characters and the total number of hours for each of them, I believe I have played Oblivion for somewhere between 500 hours and 600 hours.

Fliggerty made a Census and Excise Office mod for Morrowind that goes in that direction. It gathers stats about the current game and send it to a website where we can check the characters. I just don't remember if the total play time was among the gathered statistics.

I've got to check that out, then.

it makes me sad that ive never had enough money to buy any games, and had the good fortune of getting my cousins old Morrowind, when he got the collectors edition. but just based on my opinion ive logged around 100 hours of morrowind between the X-box and PC, and around 200 hours of oblivion between X-box 360, PC, and PS3.

Yeah that's pretty awesome.

It tracks all sorts of cool things indeed. Completed factions/quest lines, level, killed creatures, what kind of spell schools you've cast (and how many times you've failed to cast them), freed slaves, killed cliff racers, weapon swings and arrows shot, game days passed...

I've put at least 200-300 hours on both OB and MW.
