House of Almalexia

Post » Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:53 am

Do we know which Chimer House Almalexia came from? Do we know what Chimer House Vivec came from?

We know that Sotha Sil is the last survivor of minor House Sotha. We also know that their contemporary, Nerevar, is of House Indoril. It seems like we have the least information on Almalexia, which is ironic considering she is their god of historicity and genealogy.

I doubt there's anything on Almalexia, unless maybe it would be in 2920, but I don't remember anything. But I wasn't sure if in all of MK's apocryphal writings there was anything in which Vivec mentioned his surname. Oh, wait, he was an orphan, wasn't he? When he met Nerevar in the underbelly of Mournhold? But what about his mother in the sermons?

Maybe Almalexia would have been brought into House Indoril by marriage to Nerevar...

Anyway, this is a fairly simple pair of questions; which probably either has a simple answer or none at all, but I'm prepared to not be disappointed.

Isn't it the other way around? Wasn't Ayem an Indoril and Nerevar mmarried her?

It's the other way around. Alma was an Indoril noble, and Nerevar was a nobody who joined the house through his marriage to her.

Thanks for the clarification! I was mixed up then. That makes much more sense with TES III: Tribunal then.

So what about Vivec then? Was he an orphan of no family name?

His House or family is completely unknown.

Fair enough. I assumed as much.

Oh, I mean his mother and father, Berahzic and Irdri, were mentioned in the Sermon Zero, but it's apocryphal even for an obscure text. Even if it's true, Vivec still ended as a stray, as pictured in his interview with Nerevar. And, still, their House is never mentioned.
