If you are talking about the hearthfire houses, no. Once they are built there is no changing them. You would have to go back to a save from before you built the house, or the part you changed your mind about.

Yep. I'm kicking myself sometimes for the choices I made, but there are other holds out there and I've learned to enjoy the advantages that came with what I did end up with.

I know it will be tedious, but make a save after each thing you do while building, and that includes the furnishings. That way, if you don't like something, you reload and change it. Also, you don't have to build every single piece of furniture and storage that the game allows you to build. I think, like many others do, that you'll find it overcrowded and cluttered. The only essential piece, and ONLY if you want any adopted children to sleep in their beds, is the dresser if you want them to sleep upstairs, and if you build the master bedroom, then each child's bed has to have the chest for the end of each bed, even if you only have one child. Don't ask me why, it's just the way it has to be. Otherwise, only build what you like.

There is a mod called Shezrie's Hearthfire kitchens. It makes that crappy space behind the fireplace on the main floor into a great kitchen, then you have a better kitchen, and a better choice for that wing if you build it. That is, if playing pc.

I let my steward decorate everything (after I put the two twin beds in - knew I needed those). Gave me something to look forward to every know and then when I came home. I gotta say she did a good job :) I'm know you need the beds, I've got a dresser between then and I think night tables or something on the opposite wall. No chests, and I had no issues adopting. The beds are a must for sure - either in the wing or upstairs.

And if you (or anyone reading) didn't know - you can put alchemy and enchanting stations in the grand hall, so you don't need those towers to craft. They do come with a lot of ingredients and goodies lying around though, at least once the place is decked out.
