Here is my dilemma: I would like to play a character vaguelly inspired by the book "Poison Song", i.e. a Dunmer, who is a descendant of House Dagoth.and who is seeking her destiny in Skyrim after the total devastation of Morrowind. I think of her as a person who essentially strive for good (from her own perspective) using any means at hand, naturally resulting into a lot of evil. Her overall goal to dispel the curse that led her house into disaster and her herself into being an outcast of outcasts. BUT what should be her stance toward the three Daedric Princes of the Dunmer (Azura, Mephala and Boethiah)?
On one hand she could uphold the ancestral doctrines of prophet Veloth and worship them. Afterall the archenemy of House Dagoth was the Tribunal who (in one tradititon) betrayed Nerevar and Dagoth Ur, usurped the divinity by prophane use of the Kagrenac tools, prosecuted House Dagoth only to be in the end "justly" punished and cast down. My character might therefore see the end of Tribunal and the suffering of the whole Morrowind afterwards as vindication of the ancient act of Dagoth Ur, who at first tried to keep Kagrenac tools from the Tribunal to prevent them from abusing them, brought forward by the three ancestral Deadric Princes as punishment of their people for abandoning its proper gods. The fall of Dagoth Ur might be rationalized as his "just" punisment for the same sin.
On the other hand she could equally "naturally" hate Azura, Boethiah and Mephala - especially Azura - for they not only cast down the Tribunal as would seem "just", but the Nerevarine uprooted Dagoth Ur and most of his House in the process, and on top of it they allowed the total destruction on Vvardenfell and desolation of the rest of Morrowind quite indiscriminately showing no regard for their "promised people".
What attitude you find more in line with the history of House Dagoth and religiosity of the Dunmer in general? Please discuss, I am looking forward to your learned opinions.
