House indoril

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 9:57 pm

Hello, im looking to make a community of morrowind cs so we can make a mod called house indoril, as per topic name it is about the great house indoril.
You thought they where all dead
you thought none of them survived
you where wrong.
This mod is about a group of indoril house leaders hiding under ground. Your character can join them and ruin the lives of the other great houses. In the end indoril will rise up to that it was eras ago.

You've been stating that you and your brother want to make a large mod, having just finished doing a house mod with approximately 15 quests. When asked to provide this mod, so as to get some idea of your skill level, you say you can't. You see, this is a problem: you're now asking to lead others, but you haven't provided any indication that you can either do up large mods, or lead a team. Perhaps if you furnished that house mod, the one with all the quests--the mod you described previously as "small?" That would help. :)

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but House Indoril is very much alive as of Morrowind. The bulk of them serve as Ordinators for Vivec and Almalexia (that's why they call it "Indoril Armor" ;) )

What about this active thread on the first page of the Oblivion forum, from you? It's just a few days old:

Hello all, me and oddbod have decided to make a mod for oblivion. We need a team though. So far im the interior and exterior designer and he is the advance scripter. We would like to put a little (big) team together to help. This mod will be a good one i reckon though some people might not. The mod adds another side of the main story, where when you join the mythic dawn you can stay with them and summon mahrunes dagon to tamriel. If you would like to join the team please email me at Aaron1178@gmail.com

That thread is viewable http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=323218.

Do you plan on leading two teams and doing both mods at the same time? That would be quite a feat, indeed.

Great house indoril is indeed alive and well, they just don't care about vvardenfel so you do not see them in the vanilla game. Mournhold is an indoril city, one of many. Indoril is one of the most powerful of the 5 great houses, and actually has the most territory of the lot.

thats what i thought? - im curious to know how you came across the idea that house indoril was dead? is it because indoril nerevar died? you really should talk to the lads n lasses in the lore section as they are great and have loads of advice/information on TES thats really helpful
(or is it nerevar indoril?)

Indoril Nerevar, especially if you follow the style shown in several books and some dialogue. Placing one's personal name first seems to be a more informal address, and is aparently only used to refer to those of the direct line of the House, so those who actually have that as their surname: ie, current head of a house could be referred to as Redoran-Bolvyn. If I'm reading Poison Song right, that is.

Maybe he's referring to the multiple suicides of Indoril nobles after the signing of the Armistice?

If you'd read up, you'd see that just a few posts above yours I put both a link to his Oblivion thread, and quoted its opening post:

So whatever the state of Indoril, the point isn't lore as much as capability. We have some excellent modders that have struggled to put out a single project this size in under two or three years. Putting out two mods simultaneously and one of them like this, would seem to require an amazing series of resources, skills, and plenty of time on Azza's hands. I sincerely hope he can meet the needs of both. Perhaps he has separate funding.

I remember reading a book in game that said that House Indoril transformed into the Tribunal Temple. Thats why you see so many Ordinators in Vivec, which is a temple city.

Maybe you should wait with creating threads like this until you have something to show other than a very basic idea.

I think everyone should stop insulting the OP, however kindly meant.

To Azza:

There are a few basic common-sense http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/category/features/modding/ that need to be applied when starting to mod.

In this case, I'd particularly suggest that you release a few small mods to learn how to use the construction set, and then resume work on this once you've got a bit more experience. Once you have something substantial - say, at least 15% of the project, complete and ready to show with screenshots, then you are quite welcome to start a new thread, including said screenshots and any other information you can offer.

It would probably help you to check out the other House Indoril mods - of which there are several. As previously mentioned, Tamriel Rebuilt features it, as does Ald Indoril, my own Mournhold Expanded (version 1.5 onwards), and the Great House Indoril mod for Morrowind. At the very least, it might give you a few ideas of what has already been done so that you don't end up making something exactly the same, which might be seen as unnecessary duplication.

To prevent further off-topic comments, I'm going to lock this now, on the basis that you are welcome to start a new topic once you have actually made some progress on your mod.
