Housekeeping in Skyrim

Option 1. The Maid/Butler would keep your home clean. Say if you drop your wine, food, books, weapons, armor, or cloths (ect.) they would put those items in their proper place that you (or the game) has designated.

Option 2. Slave(s)/Workers would be characters you could buy or hire to work your farm(s) or gather things for you (food/mine/gather alchemical ingredients)

Option 3. Have the option to choose a lake in your back yard or a a farm for example, or different styles of kitchen. Simply not just buying everything at the store but choosing one thing over another for uniqueness sake.

Option 4. For those who hated spending hours trying to get all your books onto a shelf and have accidentally set of a spell to close causing everything to fly. Simply an option to make a bookshelf act like a chest and once you place the books they will appear as they would on any other shelf where you can then manually take them off one by one if you choose.

Option 5. Whatever your ideas might be

I'd love to have some slaves! Option 2, 3, 4, and 5...yes. Option 1? No thanks.

I selected the bookshelf option. I do want a house-keeper, but only for appearance's sake and maybe putting food on the table in the literal sense. I want better means of organising my collection; I want to be able to have a library (and then try to collect every unique book in the world), and a serious trophy room. But make the stuff easier to place than trying to fiddle with telekinesis.

I love this idea.

I want option 1 along with the maid cooking for me and setting the table
I want a daily gardener to come along and do the gardening (duh) with all the herbs andc crops and stuff. At the end of the week or month he would deposit the harvests and ill make money :)

I just don't want the NPCs to put stuff on tables and/or pick stuff up. It will RUIN my decorations. I have a pie on the table...I don't want my maid to put apples on the table...knocking off my pie. If maids are in the game (they won't be...probably), I'll murder them. If they're essential...I'll mod them unessential.

Of course a way to fix this will be optional maids :P

Am I the only one who actually likes manually placing my books? It's more showy.

Yes I'd be on a seek and destroy mission as well, I'm sure there'd be various factors that would make it more or less likely for them to steal and factors to make it more or less likely to succeed, either way I'll punish them if they try.

And different prices to hire them. The more they cost, the less chance they'll steal and the more better they are.

bookshelf, but I still want to be able to do it manually too if I felt like it or if I don't like the order it puts the books.

No, I enjoy it as well, but I think the sense of accomplishment comes from the fact that placing them is very difficult and time consuming. The reward should be from finding the rare items, and deciding which ones to display, not from fudging with the grab button for an hour.

There should be like a slider or something. Put books in a container of a section of the bookshelf and then it appears there. Then you can slide it on it's x-axis only until you pick it back up.

I definitely like the bookshelf idea. I would also like multiple armor stands, and sword/axe/staff stands or racks.

I'd like to see a bookshelf that acts like a chest, one that automatically places your books on the shelfs so you don't have to do it manually.

Yup, that is what we're all hoping for, maybe not that exact system, but the consensus is in. Looks like it's the most popular feature. I'm a bit surprised though I thought I was one of the few book fanatics running around trying to find and read everyone.

I do hope they take note from oblivion when it comes to placing items. Book shelves and general decoration was a [censored] if you didn't use mods to help out. A chest style bookshelf that puts it in a proper place or just a better placement system...something! I love collecting books and other artifacts. The player house is mainly for me somewhere to put all my goodies so why not make it easy on us to display them. I really like the maid/butler idea. If they would come around and pick up after me...well that would just be lazy, but I am.

Bookcases that function, armour stands, display cases that the hands of the Atronach don't fall through the bottom, the ability to mount shields on the wall, yes please.
Paid servants, yes please, you gotta love Eyja. Slaves, no, unless they lead you to the soon to be butchered slave traders when you release them.

[edit : did I mention putting shields on the wall? Yes? Good, I'll mention it again, just because.]
