Houses.... and the sort.

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 3:33 am

Anyone know how the housing in skyrim works or has this info not been released? Of course i know there will be housing of some sort but what sort? like oblivions system? All i ever wanted to do in oblivion related to houses was choose a cozy place in the woods and make a cabin with you know the traditional wood stove and what not... And be able to decorate the house with whatever, you know.

I hope you get to a plot of land and the game pauses and waits for you to insert Sims 3. At this point you design the house you'd like to live in.

In all seriousness though, I would like to be able to build my own house from scratch using wood I chopped myself. I would also like to purchase individual pieces of furniture.

There will probably be more intricate details with housing as far as official terms go, but the possibilities are virtually endless in the "unofficial" way ie: murdering someone and taking over their household. It's confirmed that you can but houses and have a spouse move in, but anything beyond that I have no clue.

I hope, in addition to a system like Oblivion's, that some faction related strongholds similar to Morrowind's return.

I want cool houses like the ones in the OB dlc.

And who was that dude that wanted a tower to teleport young mages to? I thought of him as soon as I read this.

I would hope you could decorate your house to appear as you would like to see it. But I think that is probably not a feature included in the game. Skyrim on pc will no doubt be modded by a fan of the game to include decorating. Wish console users like myself could have game mods/updates.

I'm not into the whole Sims dig. I would like to build my house in the woods and furnish it, but as far as the small little details go... I leave that to my girl.

Hehe for some odd reason I was reading that with Sheogorath's voice and personality. On the serious side, I really hope we can kill people occupying houses and take over so I can have a nice log cabin in the woods next to the mountains.

I'd like for it to be an improved system over Oblivion, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll be expecting it to be another deal where there is (1) avaliable house per city and then you either buy a furniture set or can pick from a few themes like in FO3. It's not a bad system, but I hope there will be more options and personalization involved.

All I know is that I will be creating a mod that lets you buy logs from the mills and set up a house wherever you like.

This is an area I really want drastic changes in from Oblivion.

1. I would like at least one rural cabin as an option.
2. I would like to be have display stands and cases in order to easily decorate my house.
A. Including being able to show off the books on a bookcase.
3. I would like more selections in furniture, but I would be fine with multiple packs of furniture options.
4. I like what I've heard of MW, with being able to build your own house.
5. I want to be able to sell a home if I decide I would like one in another city.

Jus' sayin', but I think a six torture chamber would be pretty cool.

For evil characters, that is. I won't be playing one.

I very much preferred the system we had in Morrowind. You don't just go to a house and buy it. You gotta build that [censored]. It takes time and you have to work for it. I especially loved the Telvanni stronghold. What made that even better was downloading the mod to expand it into a full-blown settlement, complete with a Silt Strider platform, shops, residents guards, and a mini-manor for your apprentice Fast Eddie. I'd really love it if we had something like that in Skyrim.

I would love to build my own village just like in the Bloodmoon expansion for MW.

As you can get married in Skyrim, and therefore have your spouse constantly in the house, does that not suggest a greater flexibility with what you can do with your house?

Or am I being overly optimistic? (Not a poll by the way)

That's a safe assumption.

Yeah, I'd like to see plots of land for sale, not just houses. I want to live close to town but outside of it- in Oblivion your choice was either in the middle of town or the middle of nowhere. No thanks :(

I likes my privacy but enjoy the features a town offers. Sell me some land!
