I think I would be killing any1 that just pops in to visit as I dont want to be having to pick up my house to keep the mofo's from running around picking stuff up off the floor and trying to hand it back to me all the time I would lose my mind and want to kill the bastedo's lol

It could easily be a random event that could trigger whenever you exited your own house. An NPC could walk up to you and do any of the following things:

- Offer you a quest.
- Just say "hello, long time no see and btw, have you heard [rumor]?"
- Ask if you could borrow him [item]. You lend it to him and the next time after 24 hours or so, he gives it back and his disposition towards you increases further (potentially opening up quests or other things that he wants help with).

And have him lie on the couch all day getting 'elevated' ;) . Better stock that fridge up.

That would be cool. It sounds silly but I liked it in Oblivion when Amusie was delivering messages for the Grey Fox and he would find me in my house. I'd think it would be cool to invite him for dinner or something.

I'd like some kind of casual, non quest related social interaction.

I suppose you could have a living room/dining room/general entrance area that they could go to; and I wouldn't mind having useful servants for the big houses; companions might want a place to stay - I like the idea :foodndrink:

So long as they don't wander into the bedroom and watch me sleep then it sounds good to me.

I have a feeling it would probably be much like new vegas where they would run up to you when you entered their area and give you random gifts and the like. I do want more npc interaction though

Visitors at my house in Skyrim? God, I hope not! I'll fortify my property with uber-high walls, topped with deadly spikes, and I will have mighty guard dogs on patrol, ready to destroy even a trespassing squirrel. Or I'll just pretend no one's home. :ninja:

(Okay, just kidding...Sorry, I'm obviously not in a serious mood, you sons of silly persons!)

or you could have a stalker hiding somewhere in your house when you come back every 3 weeks :P

Really wouldn't mind it really, although I do hope that we can have a better interaction to neighbors that depends on alot of things other then saying hi and bribing them 3k gold

This would be cool though. If we had enemies or murderers staying in our house waiting to ambush us when we take off the armor after a hard day of adventuring? Or maybe if your an evil character or a vampire, a knight or guard or vampire hunter waiting to apprehend you? What do you guys think?

Dint anyone actually spend that much time in there house apart from occasionally sleeping there (read: to regain health) though? But hopefully this new radiant AL malarkey will have friends drop over form an occasional chinwag, or to give you a quest.

I'm ambivalent. In principle I think it'd be a nice idea, especially for larger houses; always nice to have a bit more life. On the other hand, I added my own bunch of miscreants to Oblivion with their own lives, schedules and so on, so I figure I'll probably end up bringing that lot along too at some point, whatever contrived excuses I need to think of so that it makes any sense!

optional is the best option

Not when every new feature is optional like people here want.

Every time a new feature is discussed, someone always says "If it were optional" but then the game would be filled with sliders and end up buggy and filled with things constricting with each other.

Make it so people with high disposition can knock on your door and you can let them in and talk if you want.

real adventurers dont stay in their houses except to drop off trophies

True. My houses were literally only for exposing trophies (basically only used Rosethorn Hall and the Arch Mage's quarters) and ocasionally sleeping  Otherwise I'll sleep in the woods thank you :stare:

Houses were useless in Oblivion apart from storing things. You didn't even need to sleep because waiting gave you health and you could pay 10 gold for a room at an inn or find a free bed. They should make more things to do with houses.

so let me get this straight. Some of you want to basically play this game sitting inside a house cooking, reading, and waiting for people to stop by? Just play the sims if you want that, lol.

Then lets make a reason to.

I would love it if firendly NPCs came around to give me information on things like rare ores and treasures! Or NPCs in need of help in a form of a quest. I think I'd abuse the ability of NPCs to look for me in my house to kill me, unless they come through some other door/window other than the front door, which would be awesome! I guess a drink shared here and there wouldn't be too bad, but my Fire Mage loves to show off his Fire spells, and that never goes well.

I go to my house to drop off my loot, I can't fit my trophies in my house. Glarthir just won't fit in my bedroom display case, I just got annoyed and threw him in Eyja's bed in the basemant.

Man, that was one awesome Shepard Pie.

No Sims! Skyrim!! Just had a cool idea.. How about defending your house from a siege! Werewolves trying to get in or a dragon starts burning all your nice shrubs down, or goblins try to rob your house while you're in it. Would be a cool mod idea... " Skyrim's Besieged Houses".

This sounds like a fine idea. So long as NPC's don't stalk you in your house like in Fable 2. I used to wake up in ym home surrounded by half a dozen villagers. :cryvaultboy:

Audens Avidius once visited me at my house in Bravil. Of course, it wasn't a friendly visit, and I wound up stuffing his body in the fireplace.
