Me again, still struggling in the land of Cyrodiil! Well, I've just finished the Dark Brotherhood storyline. Along the way, I've grabbed a bunch of nice loot and unique weapons. Here's the bad part: I'm over capacity. I can't bring myself to drop anything, and I'm rolling along at about 244/245 carrying capacity. I have to drop things every so often, and I do not know where to store them! I have 8303 gold, and I need a house so I can store things in. Main question is: where and how do I buy a house?

You can get yourself the shack in the IC Waterfront for 8000 gold (furniture and all), just go to the Office of Imperial Commerce near The Best Defense in the IC Market District. Or if you don't want to shell out any gold yet, the DB Sanctuary should have some safe storage in the sleeping quarters. Each DB member has a chest beside their bed and they should be safe now that you're done the DB quests.

If all you need is storage space, there are a lot of safe places. Since you've finished the DB quest line, the hollow stump behind Rindir's Staffs in the IC is safe to store stuff. Also, all of the open-topped "grain sacks" in the game are safe to store in, except for the ones in the Bruma Mages Guild.

Also, all clams are safe storage.
