How's about Doom 3 BFG for Linux and Mac!

Hey all,

I emailed Bethesda suggesting something....officially bring Doom 3 BFG to Linux and Mac. They replied and suggested I mention it here too.

A gentleman named Robert Beckebans has cleaned up/updated and porterd the source code for Doom 3 BFG to support all major operating systems: Windows, Linux and Mac OS.

The project it called RBDOOM-3-BFG (https://github.com/RobertBeckebans/RBDOOM-3-BFG)

Beyond supporting all the major operating systems, it includes a few updates/inclusions which improve the game such as:

-Implemented soft shadows using PCF hardware shadow mapping

- Changed light interaction shaders to use Half-Lambert lighting like in Half-Life 2 to
make the game less dark.

So the proposition is to ask Bethesda to officially release Doom 3 BFG using this update and have it available, via Steam, for all the O/S's.

Hopefully, everyone reading this post can reply with your thoughts/comments and help push Bethesda to do this.

Cheers everyone
