How about a TF2 crossover for pre-orders?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:56 pm

Bethesda? Good. Valve? Great. Put them together? Awesome.

I would love to see the Demoman wield Umbra. Or the Scout wear the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide. Or the Spy wear the Ring of Khajiiti.

Anyone else have unique ideas? How about a Nordic Viking Helm?

Plus there would be more unique items for the [censored] to rage at.

Don't care either way, it would help the sales on steam quite a bit though, its kind of scary actually...

People buy stuff on Steam to get items for TF2, now I'm not saying everyone does but I personally know more than a few who pre-ordered some games just for the sake of some hats and items.

Although, Bonecrusher for the Soli would be fantastic :D

Let's be honest, between Valve and Bethesda, if they tried to do this, we'd be lucky if it was out before Elder Scrolls VI.

The TF2 items would need several patches and would still randomly disappear and have to be reloaded?

NO, he doesnt

each has had their fair share of failures, bethseda with oblivions dumbing down WAY too much, and valve with its not releasing of episode 3 and the way it bastardised tf2 into a hat stimulator.

but both are still awesome in my books

You just throw that statement out in the thin air and hope that it sticks or what? :)

I think the idea, as with many ideas on these forums, adds an aspect/item/idea without any real drawbacks, so why not? It would as someone said, increase sales on Steam. (even though Tes V won't need any).

As always, most people here are old farts that are too stuck in their old ways to see things from another perspective. Too bad, so sad.

Valve is clearly the better game developer. Don't get me wrong. Bethesda makes what is probably my favorite game franchise (Elder Scrolls), but Valve has consistently made better and more interesting games overall.

Valve: Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, Day of Defeat, Portal, Left 4 Dead
Bethesda: Elder Scrolls, Fall Out 3

Valve > Bethesda

But not by much.

It depends on what genre you like.

If you like Open World RPGs, then Bethesda kicks Valve in the butt.

Definitely. I'm just going by overall game design.

Back on topic, I don't see why Bethesda wouldn't offer TF2 items for pre-orders. Smaller, lesser known companies have made out like bandits doing this.

That's a horrible idea. They don't fit together at all! I can't even imagine how you are able to spawn such terrible ideas from the dark, swampy nether-worlds of your mind, from which the offspring should never even see the light of day.

ps: Bethesda is better than Valve. :P Fanboyism ftw.

No. I love Valve and all... But I'm not into the whole cross over thing.

MK VS DCU anyone? :brokencomputer:

yes, I know there are awesome cross overs out there but I would rather avoid it.
