How to add a New Spell Effect

Hi Everyone,

I was never able to add a new Spell Effect in the CS, but i've seen a couple of people add new Summon Creatures, like for instance the "Nostramus the Black Mod" where you can basically cast a summon spell that summons a Lich creature from The Tribunal Expansion.

How do we add a new spell effect?

You can't actually add new spell effects, you can only hijack existing ones and use variable amounts of scripting to mimic a new one. Complexity varies, but you generally have a global script running checking to see if you cast a specific spell, which is usually a dummy spell with negligible effect. Once cast, the script will take care of the rest. Scripted Spells by Cortex is a classic example, and NMZmaster's Elemental Magicka mods are very elaborate ones.
