how to add a welcome to location message in creation kit

Post » Mon Aug 31, 2015 10:44 pm

Hi gang.

I looked in youtube and web and wiki, but nowhere do I see any info on how to add a "welcome to sucha and such a place" like you see when you first approach a new town, city, etc.

I am releasing amod with 27 watch towers. as the player approachs each, i want a message saying "You have discovered such and such tower" but not just a little notifcation message. I want the skyrim large message.

Any help appreciated.

Reeepctfully

"You have discovered X" is built into the map marker system. Place a map marker at each location and when the player gets within the defined radius, it will display the center screen "Discovered X" text. Audio and marker design are determined by what kind of marker you set it to.

I have been modding for three years with many mods released, but this is just 100 percent new ground. Where do I get a map marker from? Where is the map marker system?

A map marker is an object you place like any other marker. Search "MapMarker" in the object window then place it in your world. In its properties, it has a "Marker Data" tab that you can use to set its radius and other properties.
