So a bit of background:
-I graduated college with a diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology. Not having an easy time finding a job (most listed online require several years of experience, and there aren't tat many listed to begin with)
-Moved back up to northern ontario and have an apartment in a small city
-Currently work a part-time job as front desk/porter for a hotel here (they said the hours will be about the same as full time since I'm doing both)
So I have no idea what I want to do from here on out. I in no way want to stay in a customer-oriented job, and I can't really bank on finding a chem tech job (no idea how to even find one outside online job boards).
I kinda want to take Electrical Technician - Process Automation (college diploma) in the fall, but have no idea what the job market is like for something like that in Canada. I was also thinking of taking another student loan and going for a proper university degree in some sort of engineering (electrical or something related to it). More than anything I'm just looking for some advice. What are the prospects like for either of those careers, and is taking out another loan a bad idea?
