I have a question. How, from who, and when do i get the key for the door in the basemant of the Hoover Dam offices. The door is supposed to lead to legats camp. So far i can't seem to figure this one out. I could use the help if anyone knows,

I believe the only door to the Legate's camp is opened after fighting your way across Hoover Dam towards the end of the main story. I pretty sure the door you're talking about is used by the Legion when raiding the dam.

That statement from wiki is the most vague thing ever. I have been to the wiki and it did not show how you get the key.

I think siding with the Legion will get you the key to that door.

Then let me spell out what it already made perfectly clear for you: You DON'T get the key, nor do you enter the Legate's camp until the endgame when you're supposed to. That's why it said "The only way to enter the camp is during the final leg of the main quest. Other than that, the camp remains sealed off from the rest of the map."

I think you mean the door on the top of the Dam. That is inacessable unless you come from the other side by jumping off the dam and carefully jumping up ther cliffs and into the storm drain. that leads you to the road but it is blocked by fences. You can only go back through the ncr checkpoint and out through the innacessable door atop the dam.
The door I mean says need a key. It is a door in the very basemant of the hoover dam offices that is supposed to lead to the road to legats camp. I have not been able to find the key which your supposed to get somehow near the end of the main quest.

To get the key to that door in the dam basemant, you have to side with the Legion. Once the Legion assault begins, that is the door you use to infiltrate the dam.

*Super Mega Spoiler Alert*

Talk to Caeser to begin the assault, you'll then be magically wisked away to the Legate camp where you have tea and cookies with Lanius. After your playdate there, you'll be given a key that unlocks that particular door. To enhance the dramatic effect of this ending, i recommend listening to Raining Blood by SLAyER

I have seen slayer. Saw them at the old living room for a preliminary tour "Seasons in the abyss" They played 5 dates in the us before kicking off the abyss tour in germany. It was a sight not to be missed!!

I've seen them 4 times myself. The last time i saw them was Columbus,OH at Ozzfest 99' I can still feel my face melting everytime i think of their shows. LOL!

It really seems like you're not getting something. There's no way to get to the Legate's camp before the end of the game. If you side with Caesar, you'll begin there right after the point of no return. If you side with NCR, it will be the last place you'll go in the game. Either way, you're not going to be able to get there until you're doing the very, very end of the game. I don't think there is an actual in game key. That door is just automatically accessable at the point in the game that it's required.
