How angry will you be?

Post » Sun Mar 30, 2014 8:42 am

Given the hype and extreme anticipation here, how angry will you be if, in ~9 hours there is a Diablo 3 type server catastrophe and no-one can log on for a long time (possibly days)?

It's pretty much expected with MMO's so not very angry at all lol.

Granted I expect right off the bat it will likely work fine since not everyone will be up that early... expect more issues as the day goes on.

Not angry, it'll be par the course. I will be pleasantly surprised if they're smooth and stable.

If they do crash, I'll be okay with it, because they certainly tried. They staggered release dates AND got an overflow server specifically for launch. They anticipate huge numbers... but there's only so much you can do.

Honestly, I'm expecting a rough launch/Early Access. Something tells me it's going to go down the road FFXIV had, where every 5-10 minutes players would get booted, and then have to sit in some sort of Queue.

Though, If it was like that one day they brought up servers for a short period of time, and have a type of overflow, much like Guild Wars 2, It shouldn't be terrible.

However, we should definitely take "Murphy's Law" into consideration with pretty much any launch of a title.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if there are no server issues.

I will be upset of course but I am just expecting it. From what I have read most MMOs have birthing pains in the first few days. I just hope that I get shuffled onto one of their overflow servers right way so that I have a clear PvE environment.

expecting the usual woes

overcrowding

maybe a server crash

broken quests

and the forum running hot

further:

two or three hotfixes a day

extended downtimes and

people writing in the forums that this is the worst launch they ever experienced

However, nothing of the above will make me angry cause I am expecting these things.

Only the after-life is perfect...if you end up in the right place.

Pleasantly surprised at the responses so far, given the crazy anticipation level ATM. It's encouraging and has spurred me be more zen-like if issues arise. Ommmmm...

truth be told this is not launch, only people allowed in are supose to be those with 5 day early access, which i estimate to not be as big as some are expecting

I have a Skyrim character to play anyway...

But I hope for a smooth launch, just because it will be good for their reputation. Considering the large number of haters wanting this game to fail (not here, most here are devoted TES fans), I don't want to see a rough launch add to that hate.

I take a long time to get my character to look the way I want, so I am hoping I can avoid the opening rush as much as possible. Of course, if it happens to be login problems, then yeah, I will be frustrated.

I won't be angry, at all. A bit disappointed maybe, but not angry. All MMO's have glitches at launch/prelaunch, to varying degrees. I have been in a lot of betas over the years, some have been very good, while others were little more than extensions of the beta stress test. I'm hoping that all this down time since the end of beta was to make sure everything runs smooth from the start, but I'll understand if there are some issues.

I think if there are issues, which there probably will be, they will be doing all they can to fix them as fast as possible.

I am fully expecting there to be many issues. I will not be happy about them, but there is no point in getting upset. Plus, if by some miracle, everything does run smoothly, I get to be very pleasantly surprised.

Expect the worst, and you won't be disappointed.

Its why they have overload servers. They can control the flow of players without affecting your game play too much.

I will be so angry that I'll start foaming at the mouth and have an aneurysm from which I will collapse to the floor

I'll probably be ok once the servers come up again though
